Finally decided to poke my head in here and start a Pregnancy journal! :happydance:

DH Mike and I were TTC for 6 months, since nov 2007. I thought we would never see 2 lines on a test :) I guess I just needed to be patient! OPKs and Pre-seed did the trick for me and on my 6th month, 12DPO, I finally got my :bfp:!! :cloud9:

Now at 4 weeks + 2 days I am a complete worry nut praying and hoping little bean sticks!!! It's still early days and I don't have much symptoms as of yet. Lots of CM, occasional twinges in bbs, and extreme fatigue (I am taking cat naps daily!!!) The lack of symptoms has me in a constant worry

I am on vacation (got my BFP the day before i left!) so have not made any doctor's appointments for anything, will have to hold out 2 weeks until i get home! Stick baby bean, stick!!!!

:happydance: thanks for popping my prego journal virginity

So am i supposed to be going to the restroom in the middle of the night?! Gosh i think i went 3-4 times last night :dohh:. Bbs also seem to be getting firmer...that's really the only "symptom" i think i am having at the moment (I actually had to change a top today because bbs wouldn't fit in it, was too tight).

I know i am still early yet but people keep asking me if i have any morning sickness yet and i don't! And it's got me worrying! I am so hoping i get more signs soon :hissy: I don't care how bad they are, I would be more comfortable if my body was acting up and not being so...normal!!!

Ugh so last night I was tellin DH how my bbs seem to have grown (they HAVE omg!) and he like...comes over and grabs them REALLY HARD. What an arse! I was so mad at him, as it hurt so much. MEN!! He didn't really understand what was wrong with it. *smack*

Bbs larger than normal is the only thing out of the ordinary right now. I am really tempted to take my other HPT just for fun, but ehhh i shouldn't :p I just like seeing a :bfp:

haha okok girls i WONT. it's just tempting as i have a spare here

went to the pharmacy today to get my vitamins refilled (since i left them in Delaware!) So i should be back on the vitamin in a day or two whenever they have it ready for pick up! yippee. I know it's not so big but i do feel guilty for not taking them of all times, when i finally fall pg!

turbo_mom
Apr 29th, 2008, 20:46 PM
aww congrats hun!!! Don't worry about the symptoms. The only reason I had thought I was PG was because my period was late. I had no morning sickness or anything. Around week 6-7 I started to get very tender bb's. DH and I were in the shower together and he was looking at them and cupped them then he just let go and my bb's just fell so hard I was so ready to punch him!!! Dunno why they are so grabby lmao
But i'm sure over the next few weeks you will start to feel different. Don't be stressed out try to relax and enjoy knowing you have a little person growing inside your tummy :)

I just have to keep reassuring myself.

Went to FIL's retirement ceremony today. MIL was telling everyone "im going to be a grandma!!!!" And even apologized to me that she was telling everyone  I am happy she is excited though. :)

Heylo! Congratulations on reaching 5 weeks. :happydance:

I don't feel pregnant either... apart from feeling exhausted all the time. I am not worrying though, my mum said she never had any symptoms so hopefully going to follow in her footsteps.

Awww that's great about your MIL being so excited! only 35 weeks to go!!

Samo
May 1st, 2008, 16:50 PM
I will give bean kisses and rubs from you all . i'm always trying to feel "where" my womb is... all i know is it will be below my bellybutton lol. But sometimes i have an odd lump shape i come across  maybe that's bean? hmmm

I have been reading and seeing how you other first tri ladies have already been shopping or buying some baby stuff! :shhh: I haven't at all! DH keeps saying it's too early BLAH BLAH BLAAAAAH. I always wonder if he is excited about it or if it hasn't quite hit him yet. He just doesn't seem on :cloud9: ...seems like his usual self! Maybe it's all in my head.

Hiya Samo!!!! I'm so thrilled for you, and now very excited that I've finally discovered these pg journals!!! I'm gonna follow you every step of the way! (and hopefully join in here one of these days... :shy:)
That is soooooooo sweet about your MIL! Mine was the same - for all that I rag on about her, it was really nice to see!!!
Don't worry about DH - men react really weirdly to this kinda thing... I kept saying it was Swiss men (they are notoriously... uh... rock-like) but apparently it is world wide!!!! :dohh: There's a saying that men only become fathers when the baby is born...
Sending you :hugs: and well-wishes! I'm watching!

May 2nd, 2008, 11:49 AM
I agree with swissmiss! Guys dont usually start getting excited until you are showing! MINE WAS LIKE THAT when I was pregy with DS!!!! I wanted to buy stuff and he just wasnt excited about it at all (on the outside that is!) .....but then once I started showing (I started wearing pregy clothes as son as I found out I was pregy  and DH thought I was nuts! ) anyway, once I started showing he wanted to come shopping with me and we would walk around and he was kind of walking with a kind of strutt! :shhh: it was really cute I giggled to myself! It was like he was saying in his posture "yup! I did that! I made her fat!" :happydance:
So dont worry guys are strange creatures!

Hey chicken, how's pregnancy suiting you? lol
I am thrilled that you have this journal now, you really deserve it after how patient you have been.
Will keeping dropping by to check on you, we are all missing you over in TTc but wouldn't ever want you back there......unless you are visiting of course, which I absolutely expect you to do lol.

Samo
May 2nd, 2008, 17:16 PM
Aww Wendy, Niknat, I hope to see you all here soon :hugs:. I do miss the TTC forums! Of course i visit there frequently :D I will be your cheerleader!!!!! This preggy stuff takes forever, i thought TTC was long...at this point i'd be setting up for O already but with being PG i've got weeks to wait for an appointment, a sign, showing, etc! Patience seems to be key here. I am just relaxing and enjoying every step of the way!

Akamummy, i think my DH will be the same...he will (hopefully) light up when i start showing. I am wearing alot of babydoll tops lately  which make me look pregnant  and i don't care if my tummy hangs out after i eat LOL!!!! Ahhh the one time in my life i don't mind looking 'fat'!

polo_princess

8 months to go seems sooooooo long

Oh girls, we went out for lunch today and DH ordered a burger and when the waiter asked how he wanted it to be cooked DH said "well-done". I asked him why not medium, as that is what he usually gets, he said just incase i wanted a bite of his burger, i can have one :cloud9:. He knows i am not supposed to eat red meats . I thought that was sweet of him!!!

May 3rd, 2008, 08:25 AM
Aww bless him thats sweet!!

Your uterus will be below your pelvic bone still at the mo. Lots of us have had bloating early on some to the point of wearing maternity clothes at 6 weeks!!! They say it starts to come above it at about 12 weeks and thats exactly when mine popped over!!

How slow does it all go......esp the first 12 weeks - you just wish it would hurry the .... up!!!

Wont be long till you are having scans and all sorts - will you be finding out the sex???

x

Samo
May 3rd, 2008, 09:02 AM
ooo below the pelvic bone, will have to feel around there haha. I am bloating like CRRRAAZZZYYY just starting the past 2 days. hmph! i feel huge! and constipated no less! (tmi!) ugghhhhhh

as for finding out the sex...i am pretty sure we will be! it's hard NOT to find out...with us not living by ANY family (they live in different timezones and different countries) it would be hard to keep such a secret as they would be eager for news from us. I would like to decorate and buy things according to gender, not sure if i want to go for gender neutral colors...greens and yellows just aren't fav colors of mine lol. Although i was thinking maybe the 2nd or even 3rd baby I WILL keep as a surprise...just don't think i can keep #1 a surprise :) it will be first grandchild for both our families, i am sure they are all already eagerly wanting to know if bean is a boy or girl!

And Michy...i don't feel ANYTHING. honestly, bbs don't even bother me! But as long as im not bleeding i'm happy lol. this time last week i was wondering "ohhh what will week 5 bring me?!' and so far nothing  and now i am thinking "what will week 6 bring me?!" i think it is a vicious cycle!!

blehhhh girls :( i am sooo sick right now...not morning sickness...but caught a nasty cold sometime yesterday!! Woke up in the middle of the night BURNING. My nose and throat are burning, i feel like my head is a balloon. I took some tylenol, that is supposed to be ok to take while pregnant, and i was sleeping up until about 5 min ago (it is 3PM!!!). Just thought i'd take a break from sleep to eat and browse forums a bit.

i hope the cold passes over  i don't want to be feeling so sickly with little bean in me! Want to make sure I am healthy! I hope bean is fine!

I was feeling (well, i am still feeling) like total crap. Yesterday was hoooooorrible and i really can't stand to have another day like that. DH booked me an appointment with the OBGYN today so i can get checked up and hopefully get some sort of medication as i am just suffering!! Not my ideal reasons for a 1st appointment!!!

:hugs: hello ladies! I am feeling a little better today, atleast i can breathe now! I think in 2 days time i should be back to my normal self, fingers crossed!!

I don't know if it's just me having this cold or what, but my stomach is soooo queasy. if i don't have food in my tummy, it feels AWFUL! I took a nap and woke up just begging DH to find me something to eat as my stomach was churning. Same thing happened this morning too, it's just when i have an empty stomach. Could it be the beginning of sickness to come?!

Oh yea...i'm running out of pants to wear *sniffles* another pair i could not put on today as my butt would not go in them!!! arrg!

akamummy
May 7th, 2008, 11:09 AM
 Im sorry to laugh...but with me its the opposite (I have NO BUTT normally...My sister says I just have a crack in my back! its true!!!) but with me i cant fit cloethes coz of my tummy! DH says that once Im pregy I finally get a butt and it looks good! I slapped him :hissy: and told him that you cant have both! You cant have big (o)(o);s and a bubble butt! Its either one or the other! :p

Anyway, Im at the "she is fat or pregy?" stage at the mo! So Im trying to wear my maternity clothes that really acentuate it! :shhh: I definately am showing though so thats a good thing!

Sorry you are feeling so bad Samo - I have that same just "icky" feeling all of the time - hubby got me some preggie pops and they work really well!!! I just suck on one and most (not all, but most) of that sick feeling goes away. Now I'm sure they won't work as well once the official throwing up version of morning sickness sets in, but they work great now!

Definatley!! Thats what i find helps Samo!!

You just have to kind of force yourself to eat, not nice but you wont feel so bad for it afterwards.

I dont think its cos your sick though i think its the m/s sneaking in!!

well girls i most definitely think it is morning sickness now. oh GOD save me. i have to get on an airplane in 2 hours and im hurling this morning. my MIL came in and turned the light on to wake us up and i was FINE but man oh man when that light hit my face it just triggered a bomb. Back home, finally *kisses the ground*. I was surprisingly sick-less during the flights. MIL got me some mints and a pack of crackers that i just munched on (although i was left completely full and bloated by the end of it lol). But I started to feel crap again and slept at 6pm....and just now woke up past 7AM the next day! I don't know how i managed to sleep 12 hours straight O_O

i am starting to feel really down, ladies :( about pregnancy i mean. Of course i REALLY wanted this, DH and i both, but feeling like crap 24/7 for 7 days straight is not my cup of tea :(. I don't really know how else to cope! Last night was thr worst night of sleep ever! Heartburn and stomach pain and sickness. And it's ALL DAY LONG it has not gone away in 7 days! I keep sleeping at night praying that when i wake up i will feel normal :(

I've tried everything, peppermint tea, ginger tea, juice, bland toast, just eating a meal, crackers... still feel crap :(. Heck, right now i still have the heartburn from last night! I can barely move or want to move. I am horrible and keep thinking "what have i done to myself?!" then turn around and think that maybe it will get better, i shouldn't think that way! I knew beforehand that if sickness and such hits me, it will hit me hard but god...this is almost worse than what i was expecting. I just see no end in sight for it

hey Samo! Thanks for the post in my new journal. You're my first. Awweee...
Just read your entire journal start to finish and I just wanted to thank you for the romantic picture that you've painted for the new girl. LOL
No, seriously though I'm sorry that your m/s has kicked in full force. It is good though, right? Means things are good... I have had a few friends say that banannas work, if you can stomach them. Something I didn't see on your list. Hope you can figure out a way to feel 'normal' for at least a little while.

Hey samo... I had that with my first pregy ....But I had it 24/7 too! CONSTANTLY! I even had to quit my job coz I was bedridden! Throwing up every 10 mins! SO DONT WORRY EVERYTHING IS FINE! Just some people react that way to certain sexes that they are carrying! I had a little boy! But some have had it when they were carrying girls!
YES ITS NORMAL!!! And try not to stress too much it does go away after 3 months! You will jsut have to wait it out! Sorry  I know its not fun! But in reality not all women go through the "OH YOU ARE JUST GLOWING!" thing...TRUST ME!!!!!
But it is a good thing that you are feeling like that coz it means bubs is doing real well! I know its horrible and you think to yourself why did I even want to get pregy! :friends: Im here for you...I totally understand, Coz Ive been through it!!! :hissy:
I found light beer and ginger beer to work really well....I really didnt eat that much. As for the heartburn most people have that the whole pregy...I did...so dont worry its totally part of being pregy! (THEY JUST DONT TELL YOU ABOUT ALL THAT STUFF!)
Um...what else...(she says as she looks at the screen with a blank look on her face...as her brain has turned to mush now that its past 5pm...)
:hugs: :hugs: :hugs: Hang in there sweet pea it doesnt last forever and this feeling that you have will soon pass once you are feeling better! I said that I would never get pregy again...
But that soon changed once I passed the 4 month mark!  Just try and rest...try sleeping half sitting up...put at least two pillows under your head and one between you knees when you lie on your side! It helps alot with the heartburn...as well as MYLANTA or GAVASCON...MmMmm minty! Oh yeah when you take a swig, try and swallow it really slowly so that it has time to ease the burn!!!!!!!!
HAPE THIS ADVICE HAS HELPED! :happydance: :flower:

hey cindy im sorry the m/s is getting you bad ... when i first got it i felt the same "god what have i got myself in for, ive got weeks of this left" but you'll find you have good and bad days so try not to worry too much, its perfectly normal, just some get it worse than others.

You just make sure you take it easy and get plenty of rest :hugs:

Sorry you're feeling crappy hun... you just have to ride it out and hold on to the fact that it wont last forever and it will be worth every second. Its still very early days and take something from the fact that they say a sicky preganancy is a healthy one. Some girls would give their arm to feel unwell just as a little reassurance.

It wont be long darling.

Thanks a lot girls :hugs:. I am starting to feel a *bit* better now, atleast i can get out of bed, right? :) Have not gotten sick once yet today...but i am being cautious because i still have that mushy feeling!! I found sandwiches and tea work fine for me and so i've been living off that for 2 days...so muchso that DH had to go out and buy another loaf of bread this AM

I can't believe in 2 days i will be at 7 weeks! time does fly by. I wonder when i will start to grow a small bump...i've always been rather thin so i figure if anything is in there it'll definitely show! i think right now i am just bloated...

I keep thinking boy or girl? i can't seem to decide if i want one more than the other...if that makes sense...you know how some people just have an instinct of what the sex could be... When i dream of baby, the sex is always different! When i get in the shower i like to rub my belly and talk to it hehe

Guess what! no nausea today! god i feel like a prat, complaining all the time, you poor ladies have to deal with me and my junk, i am so sorry :hugs:

Called the hospital today. The man who i talked to didn't seem to understand a thing coming out of my mouth and referred me to call a different section of the clinic. that section referred me to someone else...who then referred me BACK to the first place i had called! :hissy: They suggest i book appointments online, but the appointment calendar is backed up 2 weeks! I would be 9 weeks by then and just need a referral from my base clinic to go offbase! Well luckily the second guy i talked to was smarter and said that all they need to do if give me a clinic prego test to confirm it's real. I said i wasn't lying about it haha already 7 weeks along, there's no way i CAN'T be! but in any case, i am now getting ready to go down there for a test to get a referral. :dohh:

Atleast things are finally moving along for me! I had to wait all weekend to call the clinic as they are closed, then mon+tues their phonelines were down. HORRIBLE! i just want to pull my hair out!

oh yea...i am scared of the test i need to take at the clinic so i am going to POAS right now to make sure i AM prego  don't want to go there for things to come up negative in my face! Even though i am sure it wont but ya know, hard not to worry!

Hospital called this morning to tell me what i already knew  and scheduled me an OB orientation next week + i have to call in a couple days for my OB referral #. *PHEW* finally i can get the ball rolling. I'll probably 9 weeks+ before i -finally- get to see an OB though. It's ok :) I am confident baby is 100% fine and can wait a bit longer to be seen.

I am STARVING this morning...complete opposite to how i have been feeling lately. Pregnancy is such a rollercoaster ride

dream update: forgot to mention had my first dream last night on baby's sex! Dreamt i was at a sexing scan and lo and behold it was clearly a males bits and pieces! Wonder what it means??? I told DH and he was thrilled as he is already pretty confident it's a "he" cookin' up inside my tummy.

Hun maybe you should check to see if youll have your scan booked for you or you have to book it yourself? I know here i had to get my notes from m/w then book my own appointments for scans

My doc referred me and within 3 weeks i had a m/w call and i went for my booking in appt!!

Do some researching hun you might be able to get one sooner!!

Yea, i told DH and he said to just call the hospital back and ask what i can expect from it, because if i do get a scan that day, he'd like to know so he can take time off work to come as well. i think i will call and ask that tomorrow. i'm sure they get a lot of calls like that anyway...lol

Guess what everyone!!! I found out my cousin is pregnant! WOW! I never knew, she is quite far along now and due in August of this year!! My grandma told me when i told her my news. My cousin is having a baby boy! I'm so pleased for her :D and we will have LOs around the same age (4 months apart)! cool!

Tomorrow morning i have an OB orientation at the base clinic (not the same clinic that i will be going to) i am really not sure what will all happen tomorrow, but i think it's just going to talk about what my insurance will be able to cover offbase at the other clinic etc. Of course this is the clinic all my records are kept so that too i suppose. Maybe it'll be something more, i don't know...but in any case it's SOMETHING. Can't wait!

The Orientation today was great! It was just like a class at the base clinic, they handed all of us books and a pregnancy calendar and all sorts of little brochures and things...even a toothbrush LOL. Lots of different speakers covering all sorts of pregnancy issues and such. Signed up for a couple of the classes they offer too, it was awesome  very informative.

There was quite a few ladies there (which the speakers said was unusual, usually there are only 3-4 ladies who get pregnant a month, but we had about 10 in the class!) and omg get this...one of them was a friend of mine!! Crazy! i had no idea she was pregnant and vice versa, both of us were 'keeping it a secret for a while' well so much for that i guess! So i have a preggy buddy here :) she's about 2 weeks behind me, awesome!

Also, 8 weeks today so took a belly pic!

Samo
May 22nd, 2008, 04:51 AM
Ahhh names...at this point peanut is going to be born nameless LOL. DH and i are just totally blank on names! It's so hard for me to pick a name without seeing the child...know what i mean? Heck, it took me 2 days to name my dog when i got him!!!! I don't know what we're gonna do about names  except that the middle name will be japanese (DH likes Yoshi for a boy... which i might consider because my grandma was named Yoshiko, and i do miss her dearly!)

I really don't know! i am going to have to ask for ideas on names!!!! I keep thinking of some then i think "do i want to say that name everyday for the rest of my life? hmmm"

I am avoiding EVERYTHING talking about m/s so that's the last mention of it (until it starts up again for me) for now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found that when i read about it or think about it it starts up...psychological thing i'm sure!!!

Was out showing a new friend the city and mall here (she just moved here) and stopped by the maternity store there!!! I bought a pair of pants! wowza! i figured buying -1- now wont hurt, as i can't button ANY of my pants anymore, hehe...i am hiding it well but wanted to 'try out' some maternity pants and gosh they are comfy!! Was hard not to buy more pair let me tell you! The lady working there was great as well and was throwing things at me right and left...when i just wantd the one pair she looked at me and said "hunny, you're gonna need a LOT more than that!!!!" i said i will have to come back with DH so he doesn't have a heart attack if i spend so much!

I also stopped by the book store and OMG they were having a red tag sale on baby/toddler/children books...i couldn't help myself and bought quite a few (14 books in all!!) and it only cost me $10!!! Score! I told DH about it and he said we should go back tomorrow and just buy all the books :happydance: why not right? We'll need cute little learning books! And heck, it'll be cute to have on a shelf in the nursery :cloud9: The books were seriously like 50 cents-$2

That is so cute, you and all those books. :D

It's never to early to start reading to them though. I'm on the fourth novel that I read to Charlie at night. We've done 'Winnie the Pooh', 'The Jungle Book', 'The Wind in the Willows' and we just started 'The Hobbit' last night. It's such a great way to finish the day and get him settled for bed but it carries over to during the day too. He is always looking at books and he's recently started pretending to 'read' them. He moves his head from side to side whilst holding a book open against his nose, :cloud9: it is totally adorable.

Oh sorry  hijacked your journal there.

Aww angelmouse, thats so sweet, that's what i was thinking when buying books! can't wait to read to LO!!

Went to the little baby's 1 year bday tonight, it was ok... i did not get to finish my monkey :( so i guess the monkey will just be mine (hehe) BUT I went back and bought more books as a gift! Sesame Street books...the little girl LOVES Elmo, she instantly started biting the books when she opened the gift

I cannot wait till Friday! First appointment! I have no idea what to expect either, i can only assume they'll do an ultrasound? for dating and such? i don't know! arrrg so hard not knowing!!!! Can't wait though! I am grooowing by the day omg! I hope baby is ok...i don't have many symptoms to be completely honest, only sickness and then the saliva thing  cmonnn baby grow grow!

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! Strange really, i thought i wrote up a bit here yesterday, it must not have gone through!

DH surprised me a little bit...when he was going on lunch break around 2pm, he asked if he could get an extra 30 min to take me to lunch, as 7PM~ would be too late to go out for dinner, and his supervisor told him he could have the rest of the day off for my Birthday! So that was good. Nothing else though, he is bad at shopping for me, so no gifts, he got me a card that said he owes me one. Not surprising, i was expecting that!

have my appointment in a couple hours, im up early to get ready for it. Not excited :( i doubt i'll get a scan. infact i doubt i'll do ANYTHING but fill paperwork out and talk about whatever they talk about. By the end of it i'll still be sitting here in limbo wondering if i even HAVE a baby in there...honestly the only thing keeping my head on straight is the fact i'm getting fat. i am just so bitter about today and acting like a sourpuss i know! And if they do an internal exam, i am NOT looking forward to that at all!

sorry i've been away ladies...

just thought i'd post here and say i'll probably be avoiding forums and such until my next appt :(. I really dont want to get my hopes up and i am hoping time flies fast if i don't think about my pregnancy 24/7 (so hard i know). It just aches a bit inside not knowing what's going on. I haven't even got a bump. It's just depressing i suppose...

i hope everyone is well and good! i do miss you all, and do pop in once in a while to just browse threads...

My next appointment is my 16 weeker on July 18...i'll be back to report what happens then. Hopefully baby is alive and well and i hear a heartbeat (i know i wont get a scan so atleast maybe i can hear a heartbeat, right?) Until then i'll be sort of a ghost...

Went and dug my journal up a bit now i have some things to write in it!

My pregnancy has really come to a slow down! Symptoms have slowly been stopping now that i'm way out of 1st tri and now it's all just a waiting game! I do feel a lot better though!

My appt. on July 18 (last week) went so-so. The OB was not amazing, but she did check the heartbeat (that's ALL she did) i only got to hear it for about 10 seconds but it was there :cloud9: so there IS a baby in there!

They set me up an anatomy scan for August 7! I'll be 19 weeks 1 day then :happydance: and they said they will check for sex and I'll find out if i want...and I WANT TO! Cannot wait for that! I do hope the sonagrapher is better than the doctor's i've been seeing!

17 weeks today btw!!! I took a "bump" picture to show how i'm coming along, you all get to see my lack of bump! It's more like FAT! :hissy: I am just waiting until that day I wake up and there's a beachball sized lump in my abdomen :happydance:

Youve been up to a bit whilst you were away considering you wernt getting much of anything in the way of antenatal care!! Im glad you got to hear LO's heartbeat, its lovely isnt it!!

And YAY youve managed to get a scan i know that was the main thing your worried about ... the 7th is not far away at all, only about 2 weeks and you can find out if youve got a prince or a princess!!

You had better pop back and let us know straight away missus!!

Samo
Jul 24th, 2008, 00:53 AM
Oh i hope LO cooperates at the scan, will be the only one we get and we are paying massive for it! $300-$400!!!! Insane prices really :growlmad: 3d/4d scans are cheaper than that methinks! Oh well, what can ya do??

DH says 'it must be a girl, because your pregnancy seems to be a pain in the ass!" so to him, boys would be much simpler and easier to carry!!

well i've been feeling LO a LOT more lately! :happydance: he/she always gives me a little nudge at nighttime...always at night, i guess LO's schedule if way off  wonder if that'll keep up when LO is born, eh? I usually get flutters and bubbling around midnight when i am at my computer. The other night i took a late shower and that must have woken the little bubs up because i was feeling like he/she was doing acrobats in there!!

a week and a half till scan. DH is thinking about canceling and maybe trying to find somewhere cheaper (i KNOW the price that OBGYN gave us is way overpriced!) but i'm so set for August 7th!!

Been a bit lonely lately, DH has been working for 8 days straight, including 12 hours both saturday AND sunday! :hissy: they are working them SO HARD right now! He has to work 12 hours ALL this week too and maybe even next weekend! I have been wanting a foot rub so badly, i woke up with awful cramps again today, but i know DH is more tired than i am, having so much work lately. Can't wait till he starts coming home at 4pm instead of 8pm!!!!!!!!

Exciting news about the scan though sweet pea! Im going for my measuring scan on the 11th Aug...so not long now! Im hoping that it includes a 3D scan! That would be nice! They said that we would get a disk etc...so for the price Im hoping with my fingers crossed! :winkwink:

Just now i was feeling LO move around a bit and i quickly pressed my hand up against the area i felt the movement and felt a kick! haha was like a little push on my hand, that was the first time i was able to feel movement from the outside :happydance: go baby go! LO must be getting more active :cloud9: i was only feeling movements at night, very short flutters and bubbling.

So what did they say are you gonna be covered?

DH called the insurance company and talked to them in person as well, and they said 'yes we cover it'

well...a whole new can of worms opened today

So i call the OB office to say 'yes! they DO pay for it!' and the lady i talked to was like "NO they don't" and went on and on and ON basically saying whatever my insurance company told me was a lie and they need to write it on paper that they will pay for it. Then she went on to say that no the scan is considered medically necessary to THEM but when they write it in they put it as a routine ultrasound (<--- this is why the insurance wont cover it). Then i asked ok, well if you request that i get one and you say it is considered necessary then why don't you write it as such so my insurance will cover it?!?!! And you know what she says (and i couldn't believe her, she put me in tears!) "are you BLEEDING? in PAIN? something wrong with your pregnancy? because from your records you seem perfectly healthy and therefore it is not medically necessary and they will not pay for it!"

i wanted so badly to hang up on her the whole time, she continued to mock me and say "we get this phonecall a lot, it's always the same thing!"

DH is now trying to take care of things as i am a blubbering bucket of tears now and don't want to keep calling them back and forth (although the lady said "feel free to open a 3 way on the phone if you like!! i've talked to them only about 50 billion times!") if he doesn't get things worked out then i'm just going to have to cancel our scan don't know what else to do!

ACK!!! :hissy:

How can they say that it IS medically necessary but then not write it up as such??!!! :growlmad: It's greed that's all, they want the money for a full medical bill. Wankers! Why would the insurance say that they do cover it if they don't?! I hate the system you girls have to deal with over there it sucks Donkeys! Basically if you can't afford insurance or whatever or if you get the wrong kind then you're screwed!!!

So update on the whole OB and scan drama:

I went to my primary care provider onbase (my doctor who wrote me the referral to see the OB) and she was furious with them that they treated me that way! She said she never heard of such thing, that i would have to pay for a scan etc etc etc and that's the first complaint about that she's ever heard! Strange! So in the end I COULD have gotten my scan and they could not have made me pay for it, no clue why the OB would say that sort of thing to me!

So She wrote me a NEW referral! Yay! I am going to a new OB now after this week! THANK GOODNESS! I'm sure the next OB will be tons better...my friend goes and to that OB and she loves it. Also, i got my scan RESCHEDULED and it will be on Aug. 18th! Next week Monday! I do feel sad though, obviously! I could have seen my little baby last Thursday. I'll be about 20w5d at my scan, DH is happy because we'd be able to see lots.

Now for 1 more week of waiting...

DH and I picked out some baby furniture! Crib/cot, a dresser and a glider rocker. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we can go this weekend to purchase them and bring them home! I am so anxious to set up a nursery  DH and I cleaned the spare room so now it is completely empty and ready for baby things! :happydance:

Also tomorrow i hit 20 weeks. Shocker! I was sitting here thinking about it just now and can't believe time passed...half way through! It is almost scary because those 20 weeks went by rather quickly and just another wait like that and i will have a baby in my hands! It seems all too soon! I shouldn't be getting scared about it  but the more i think of it...the crazier my mind gets!

Had my 20 week appt. today, the last appointment with this particular OB practice! The OB i saw today was a lot better than the previous appointments, but i am happy to be moving to the new practice for the rest of my pregnancy!!! :happydance:

baby's heart rate was in the 150's, the doctor was chasing baby around hehe since baby kept swimming away from the doppler. baby did give the doppler a swift boot! Probably wondering what the heck we're poking him/her with!! He said that i will likely stay a 'skinny minny' through my pregnancy and probably not get very big at all, i will probably get a small bump around 23 weeks or so!! He measured my uterus and the top is right at my belly button where it should be at 20 weeks so i AM growing as i should be.

Monday is my scan!!! I can't wait!!!

Team PINK!

:cloud9: What a wonderful day! the scan went very well, baby was moving a lot! Also that baby likes to stand on my bladder, which i had a feeling of because i would occasionally get a swift kick to the bladder!! DH and i are both THRILLED about having a girl! OMG we had no idea! :happydance:

DH kept saying for weeks he just feels its a girl but he didn't want to swear on it and didn't want to say boy at all because he said he didnt want to jinx the outcome!! So he was hoping for a girl all along! I had no idea :cloud9: I am so happy about it all! He can't believe it and even questioned the ultrasound tech about it a couple of times and she told us that she would not say it was a girl if she was not sure of it and she kept pointing at the '3 little lines there!' This is the first time in a loooooong time that a girl will be the first born from his side of the family, as everyone has boys first! We called his mum on the phone right after and she was overjoyed and said "ok well i am going to go announce it to the world! talk to you later!"

Have not told my side of the family yet, have to wait till early morning or something, as timezones in USA and Japan are totally different! I have no idea what they will think!

DH and I are buying the crib/cot this week! eek! everytime we go to the store to order it though...i keep thinking "but what if i find something else i like!?" twice now we've gone to the store and come home empty handed!!

I wanted to buy a cute little onesie but DH gave me a look! Some reason he doesn't want to buy any clothes  he gives me the evil eye! poo! I should just sneak to the store and grab one and surprise him

I have been making a list of the things we need to get and i keep thinking "omgosh! i need to get these now!" then realize i have 19 weeks still to buy it all :dohh: i'll have to spread out the shopping! I think i am just excited it is all so real now

ahhhh store is out of stock of the crib we want until next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DH and I have been talking about names :) and i had some i liked and he said no (blah) but then he came around! wow!! We haven't told anyone yet! i am nervous about them for some reason...like if i say it out loud DH will change his mind or someone wont like them and i'll feel horrible! I am so weird!!!!!!!! I need to make a poll for the name though...because i want the name First and Middle...but DH likes them switched so Middle then First...but if the First is the middle name then i don't know if i want to keep it. Have i confused you all enough? my my my!!!!

Oh I bought a new maternity top :) it says "I (heart) Baby" on it! I LOVE IT! Only prob is i don't have much of a bump so i don't know if it will be weird to wear right now  It makes sense when there is a bump there you know? People will just think i am very early on and overly excited (i am excited :p but i am not 8 weeks gone and excited, i am almost 22 weeks!!!) I might wear it tomorrow though...:cloud9: we'll see!

Samo ,
Understand what you saying with the name scenario, me and OH are chosing the little boys name , it has to be either spanish or persian so its finding one we both like.

As for the shopping thing everytime i go online , with creditcard in hand to order things i go around in circles , i want to make my first baby purchase.

Good Luck with the name , i hope there is no mind changing.

Heya Samo!

I hear ya with names. NO WAY am I telling anyone what we've (eventually) chosen; we mentioned at the dinner table w/ his parents a name we are (were?) pretty dead set on for a boy and of COURSE mother-in-law dissed it. Made me NUTS!!!!!!!! And then she had the gall to say "Oh, but I know I have no say in it"!?!?!? :hissy: She makes me NUTS this woman I tell you!!!!!!! DH came to my rescue b/f I bit her head off and said "You're right mum, you DON'T!!!" I quite enjoyed that moment :D

Sorry about the pram, but its only a week eh? :) You must be anxious to get stuff bought though, I can understand that! :)

Hey, I'd wear the top! I'd be proud of staying so small!! When people ask you can flaunt the fact that you're already over half way there and still so thin! :D Btw, when're ya gonna post another bump pic?? :D

:hugs: Enjoy your day honey!

Well girls i DID wear my "I *heart* Baby" top to lunch with some friends!! Then I got some courage and we all went shopping...i think the food from lunch helped give me a tummy on the shopping trip

Today i am 23 weeks!!! So i took a picture! I took one at 20 weeks, but really there was almost no difference from 17 weeks -> 20 weeks :dohh: so I didn't bother to post it! But at 23 weeks I have a little pouch in the making!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj101/samorin/23weeks.jpg

I am definitely gaining weight though from all my eating...but i think the weight is going to my thighs *gulp*

DH got the crib set up in Baby Girl's room this past week!! I can't wait to get the whole nursery together! My Grandparents gifted us a pram and carseat that is being mailed to us now! :happydance: i feel so grateful! They are so nice, i love my grandparents!

I Think DH and I are set on a first name, too!! I found someone who makes BEAUTIFUL handpainted wall lettering...and I am so tempted to order some today, and if I do that'll pretty much 'seal the deal' on the name choice! I am so impatient  DH said he is 99% sure that is the name he wants though! YIPPEE! I'm sure a thread will come soon about the name and looking for help to choose a middle name...because we have NO ideas for middle name!!!!!

First and foremost, I LOVE those duckie PJ bottoms they are SO cool! :laugh2:

Second but no less-most, DEFINATELY the makings of a gorgeously neat baby bump there. I bet you'll 'pop' all of a sudden and it'll be a perfect football bump just like everyone else wants. :D

Ok its been a few days since i wrote in here...lots happened...

Saturday night i was having really bad back pains and my friends were a bit concerned and so took me to the ER. ugh! I really hate going to the ER . Long story short (as i wrote about it in 2nd tri forums) i was a cm dilated which raised some concern! The OB i saw put me on strict bedrest and I had appts. scheduled for tuesday and wednesday...

Yesterday i went in for an ultrasound and transvag-ultrasound....both came out perfectly FINE. baby is right on schedule (1lb 5oz!) which was nice to hear. My cervix has not shortened at all, which is also good. resting the past couple of days has been good.

I was confident in thinking it must have just been a 1-time 'bad luck' thing, maybe i was just tired that night and it caused me to dilate? i don't know lol i think i was just trying to make up something for my own peace of mind. it's all confusing to me (being my first pregnancy and all).

Today's appt. with my OB opened my eyes a little after telling her the recent events including all the braxton hicks i was feeling, my back pain. And I think I sort of understand a little more now. All the BH i was feeling and such is pretty rare, especially with it being my 1st pregnancy and i was only 23 weeks feeling them quite often (i even made a thread here because i was concerned a bit why i was feeling so much irritation). My back pain, which i figured is just strain from all the extra weight im carrying...i guess was a bit more intense than normal as well. BH should not be causing dilation, but i think that they are.

SO I am still on a lot of bed rest. I did notice I have been feeling a lot better while resting. It's still all confusing to me... and I feel like i am a burden to the doctors  as dumb as that is! I just wanted to get all of this out, writing it down helps me think it all over piece by piece :)

Heya Samo,

I answered your thread in 2nd tri, but I just wanted to say here, HAPPY 24 WEEKS!
You make sure you get your rest, and you are NOT a burden to the docs HELLO!??! YOU are THEIR client!!! Don't even think on it. Ask all the questions you want, make all the apmts you want that's what they're there for! :hugs:

Keep well honey and KEEP RESTING!

27 weeks! My goodness i just abandon my journal sometimes :dohh: :( i just can't bring myself to sit and type a whole thing! Well some quick updates...

Had a couple more appointments and a scan and all seems well. Saw midwife yesterday who re-checked my cervix and said "Well, i wasn't poking baby's head that time! Things seem a lot better, perhaps she's moved into a different position!" which totally freaked DH out  he was like "poking her HEAD?" he later told me he will be scared to DTD from now on because he may poke Baby Girl's head :dohh: silly man!

Took a 26 week bump picture last week. Took a bit to upload it because it was on DH's computer...

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj101/samorin/26weeks.jpg

tummy is starting to come out! I feel huge and have days where i feel like a cow :(. No stretch marks on tummy yet but i am sure they will come, as i am prone to them! Boobd actually have a small amount of stretch marks :hissy: honestly i should take boob picture shots instead of bump ones because they see, to be growing a LOT more than bump is

Going to Babies R Us today! :happydance: My mother is gifting us bedding and accessories! So i am going out to buy those (she is in Japan and so it is much easier to wire me $ and have me go buy things than her order from the internet and have to pay shipping!) I can't wait until DH gets off work so we can go!! The drive is long...but shopping is worth it!
