I've been meaning to start one here for awhile. :)

I have two children, a daughter who is 6 and a son who 4, but soon to be 5 on May 13th. They are 18 months apart. I also have 3 stepkids who do not live with us but come over every second weekend.

Both of my children were born via C-section. During the pregnancy of my son, I contemplated having my tubes tied while they were doing the C-section for the delivery of him. I was 33 at that time and my gynecologist said "what if something happened to this child, and you wanted two children?" Fair enough. It truly made me think so I didn't proceed with procedure.

When my son was born, we made the decision that this would be our last child. I probably would have had one more but with 3 stepkids we have enough children around.

In the past year OH and I have been getting out more and it has been nice. I was also somewhat looking forward to the school year beginning 2009 as my son would then be in school all day because he would be in Grade 1.

Well, in January 2008, everything changed. One morning, January 14th I woke up feeling extremely hungry. Now it is unlike me to feel hungry in the morning and I usually don't eat until suppertime. So, my signals were "hmm, I think I am pregnant." Also, my period had not arrived.

I told Dan that morning that I was going to the pharmacy to get a home pregnancy test. He said he had been wondering if I was due to my period not arriving.

Well, I went and got my test, brought it home and a big fat POSITIVE. I was in shock. I told Dan and he wasn't very happy and truly, nor was I. He asked me what options we had and there was only a few.

That afternoon I searched and read stories about abortion. I already knew that I could never go through with one as I am against them.

Well, that evening I talked to Dan and this is what I said:

I couldn't go through with an abortion, I am against it. I could possibly see a teenager having one but at 38 we should know better. I don't want to have a regret for the rest of my life, and, besides this baby is a part of you and I.

Since then, we've both been quite happy and excited. I will be going on 39 in a few weeks and I never thought I'd become a mother at this age. I look at this as a blessing and I've tried to enjoy this pregnancy as much as possible as this will be my very last time that I will be pregnant in my life.

I should enjoy my pregnancies as I've never had morning sickness or any cravings in any one of them.

Dan has been wonderful and he's actually grown up a lot since my last pregnancies. He has more of an understanding of a pregnant woman.

I was so adamant that this baby was a girl. I was so correct with the gender of my first two children and I thought Mother's Instinct would not fail me this time.

http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg298/lee380/3DScana.jpg

Well, during the scan the sonographer said "Here's the pee pee and here's the balls." What a shock. But I wasn't disappointed as I have one of each already and this third baby is a blessing.

Also, just over my 15th week, I started to feel baby moving. And it's been an active one every day since.

Posted this in another thread but thought it should be here too.

My OH was taking care of a crew and teaching them what to do so I got there beforehand. First of all, they handed me something to read and I couldn't f&&cking believe that they charge for the scan photos now. I didn't have any cash because that's all they took and I didn't know for sure if OH was going to make it.

Pictures used to be free. WTF is going on in Canada!

Ok, so it's my son and I and he was being so good. I laid on the bed and the screen was pointed towards the sonographer so I could not see. Twenty minutes later he tells me to go pee and come back in so he could take more pics. Still, the screen was not in my direction when I came back in. I guess the baby wasn't in the right position so he had me waiting in the waiting room for 15 minutes so that baby might move.

OH showed up in this 15 minute period of time. Thank goodness he brought some cash like I told him.

Anyhow, after the 15 minutes I was told to come back in but OH and son had to stay in the waiting room so that the sonographer could take a few more pics. The screen was still not pointing in my direction.

5 minutes later he called in my OH and son and he finally pointed the screen towards us. We got to see the baby for 2 minutes, if that.

And for f**cking $10 for a total of four pics, they were printed on normal 8 x 10 printing paper, not like it used to be on the photography paper. And only 1 picture was really ok.

Truly, not happy.

So happy that I've gone in for one 3D scan and will be going for another.

I feel so badly for those moms that are not told beforehand to bring money for the pics, for those that come in for the one time only scan at 20 weeks and they only get to see 2 minutes if that of their baby.

It's a JOKE!

Yay!! You started a journal!!

Sorry you had crap scan - as I said in the thread, we're very fortunate that we can afford to pay for a private scan. Imagine if that was it!

Look forward to the next 18 weeks.

20 weeks 1 day:

http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg298/lee380/20weeks1day002.jpg

So far, weight gain has been steady and rapid. I posted yesterday that I was 117 lbs. but it must have been water or something as today I am down to 115 lbs. Still, it's a weight gain of 20 lbs. so far into my pregnancy.

I am wowed by that as I didn't gain that much at this stage of my pregnancy with Amanda and Jayden.

In other pregnancies, because I am constantly concerned about my weight when not pregnant, I had a very hard time adjusting to being pregnant and the weight gain. It somewhat depressed me throughout the pregnancies so I didn't enjoy them as much as I should have. The great things is I lost it right away after the babies were born.

I was talking to Dan last night and I said that this forum has actually helped me to enjoy my pregnancy and be proud of my bump. For the most part I am and am not wearing big shirts, etc. Well, certainly not wearing crop tops or anything either. ROFL

So, truly, I am really trying even though I am growing quite tired of my wardrobe now. LOL

ETA: Looking at that picture it looks as though my arse has grown.

Canceled my doctor's appointment yesterday as it was a stressful morning for getting jobs set up for the businesses.

So, 11:40 today I am going.

He said that around this time I should be referred to my gynecologist so will find out today.

Reminder to self: Get the triple blood test done!

leeanne
Apr 18th, 2008, 00:35 AM
Doctor's appointment was short and brief.

He received my 20 week scan results back and all was great. I actually was concerned because I started over thinking and wondering if the sonographer had the screen pointing away from me because of there being something wrong. But, all is well.

I brought up the issue of my weight gain. He said that each pregnancy is different (true!) and that it could be because of holding more water (amniotic fluid). He also said that he was happy with my weight gain and it's normal...1 lb. per week.

Heard baby's heartbeat today and it was at 145 bpm.

I also complained about what happened at my scan. Well, you know doctors, what can they do? LOL

As I said, all was well. :)

And, I guess from here on out I will be going to a gynecologist - appointment is on April 30th. BUT, just found out I won't have the same one as I had with my son. :( Oh, gosh, this should be interesting.

At least I won't have the same one as I did with my daughter so I should be grateful for that! I adamantly refuse to ever have her again!

Wow,I just noticed you strated one of these...
Great pics, really from your adorable kids to Dan(he is really....) to your new addition...
And your bump looks great, you have a fantastic figure.
I always had a slight problem with my weight, before puberty I was sooo thin my mom was embarresed to take me to the beach. When I was 13 I weighted less than 60 Ibs and I played intensive sports...then I started gaining weight,I don't know how but the thing is that everytime I gain a little weight I think I'm fat and everytime I lose a bit I think that I'm going back to thin...

Anyway, you look amazing and the bump looks amazing so don't worry one bit about it...:hugs:
And I love the clothes in the latest, pink is really good for you...

P.S. gyn's are great to me.I really like mine.

Looking forward to updates!

UGH! A Saturday morning and I've been up for 1 1/2 hours now....since 2:30 a.m.! Stupid dog must think she's pregnant too whining at the door at 2:30 to go out for a wee. Tried to go back to sleep but no go!

Tonight we are going out for dinner with my best friend and her boyfriend as an early celebration for my upcoming bday. Mmmm, steak and lobster, here we come. We found the most amazing little restaurant on New Year's Eve and they have the best food I've ever tasted and amazing customer service. So, a few hours out without the kids (except for one in belly), good company and fantastic food...what more can one ask for?

My little one's kicks are definitely getting stronger. I don't think he likes it when I stretch because I sure get a big boot from him. LOL

The pink pants in that pic above is not maternity so I am almost out of them. They are getting hard to pull up and rather tight around my butt.

Getting nice comments from mothers at my daughter's school. I think some are sucking up though from an incident a number of weeks ago that I mentioned on here. I am not getting the "You are so big" blah, blah, blah comments but rather very nice compliments. It's nice to hear at this stage irregardless of who they come from.

For the past 3 days I have been sick with a cold. It's not fun! I feel blah! LOL

Didn't get to go out for dinner on Saturday as OH was working and actually forgot about it. So will be going out tomorrow night, which is really my birthday anyhow.

Gosh, I am going to be 39 years old. Where did the years go? It's kind of depressing really. LOL And to think I am going to be a mom again. Never did I think I would have a child at this age.

The wonderful thing is, it does make turning 39 a bit more happier with the thought of knowing in less than 4 months baby will be here.

On the other hand, with this cold I am starting to feel like I am 60. LOL

How am I feeling today? I truly can't wrap my head around 39 years of age and how fast the years have flown by. All of a sudden, the shock of having a baby at this age shocks me. But it's a good shock.

I look forward to the year ahead and realize that I will be going through all of the "firsts" with a newborn baby all over again. And I am grateful, truly, that I have this opportunity once again.

At the same time, I am so close to 40. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! (That's a scream.)

I keep thinking, children are what keep you young at heart. Hope it remains true as the years unfold.

Been thinking about my OH and how he has changed so much since my last pregnancies. And also thinking, MY GOD, we've almost been together for 10 years. WOW! There were times I didn't think we'd make it this far, but we have and we are still happy. And we share some remarkable kids, and a new one on the way.

The day today (so far) was like any other day. At the same time, it doesn't matter. My gosh, look at all the wonderful people who I have met on here and the well-wishes I received today. You truly are all a wonderful group of people and I am blessed to have met you, even if it's through cyberspace.

Each Christmas and birthday, my OH brings the kids out so that they can pick a gift for me.

So, yesterday, he brings out the kids and I truly wasn't expecting what he brought home. Clothes, quite a few of them, and all maternity! YAY! What I like about OH is he does have good taste so I've known for a long time that he could buy me clothes any day.

Funny, just yesterday I was thinking how bored I was with a select few of outfits and also wondering what the heck I was going to do when warmer weather hit. Now I have 4 new pairs of pants, 2 pairs of shorts and around 6 new shirts.

Oh so happy! :happydance:

So, had my first appointment with the gynecologist today. The one I saw won't be the one that I will have for the duration. I guess the other was on holidays.

Anyhow, there is an assistant there and she looked at me and said "Welcome Back." I couldn't believe she recognized me. She saw Jayden and said,
"Has it been that long?" I said, "Yes, that was 5 years ago and I am surprised you remembered." She said it was because I was always so nice when I came in. AWWW!

I almost got the date today for the C-section, however, they didn't have the hospital schedule in yet. Darn! I was so close in finding out.

I do know they deliver planned C-sections on Fridays so I am assuming August 22nd will be the day.

Nothing too eventful happening recently. Baby is moving loads, as always. This is one active boy!

My bump is growing and growing. LOL

I am still coughing a lot, especially at night so I don't think I am over my cold. Last night I was coughing so bad that I was almost gagging. In all actuality, I think I better go see a doctor as I think I've had bronchitis for quite awhile as the coughing started a number of months ago.

Have a very eventful week coming up. Mother's Day tea at my son's preschool on Wednesday. 10 Year Anniversary with Dan on Thursday and this time we are going out for dinner!

Oh, a big party planned for my son and the neighbor's daughter on Saturday to celebrate their birthdays. 31 Kids are invited.

Then, of course, Mother's Day next Sunday.

And right now, there is a wolf spider on my wall and I am watching where he is going. OH better get up soon! I have an awful fear of spiders, especially this kind!

Oh, so stressed this week! LOL

This party planning for my son's bday is a bunch of work. I so hope it goes well and that the weather co-operates as we are planning an outside scavenger hunt.

On top of this, daughter is going through some tough times at school this week and I am truly worried about her.

Perhaps I'll be able to relax with our 10 year anniversary dinner tonight. It will be nice to get out for a few hours, as long as there's no talk about work. LOL

My little guy is doing fine and kicking up a storm as normal. :) The countdown is on....four weeks until third trimester! Still, pregnancy has been going very slow. I suppose part of it could be that I've been pregnant before and know what to expect and it's not new to me.

So, the day of the party is here. My son's first big birthday party, I might add.

I did so much yesterday and I was so exhausted that I didn't help decorate the upstairs of our shop. I felt bad but my feet were so sore as I had been running around shopping, cleaning, doing laundry etc.

And, this morning until the party starts at 1 p.m. will be crazy too.

But, the joy will be seeing the happiness in my son and neighbor's daughter's face today.

Please let the weather hold up and that it doesn't rain, like they are forecasting today.

I am pissy though. We spend a lot of money on bdays and Christmas' for OH's other kids. But do you think the exes ever give anything for our kids? No, not at all - NEVER. Not even a card! So f***ing rude, I tell ya! I'd like to slap them both!

Be safe in the knowledge that you'd never lower yourself to their standards. It says a lot more about them than it does about you.....

So, all in all, the party went well. BUT, no way will I combine birthdays again.

The first time I did so I combined 4 birthdays and had a huge Halloween party with over 30 kids. The neighbors at that time did not help do squat, and one of the kids who was celebrating their birthday was their own daughter. So, basically, I had no adults helping me.

I have had new neighbors since February. We thought about combining my son and her daughter's birthday together. I almost backed out but she assured me that she would be a huge help, etc.

She was, that I grant her. BUT, come the day of the party she was stressing me out and is a high strung individual. First of all, 1/2 hour before the party she's freaking as our kids had to be in her house so that they wouldn't see where we were hiding things for the scavenger hunt. She even freaked on my hubby.

I bought a t-shirt and a hat for her daughter and my son and I wanted all the kids to autograph it as a nice memory for them. Before the party started she said, "well, we will do it if we have time." UGH! (Today I brought my son's in to the preschool and the teachers are getting all the kids to sign it. HA!)

Then the kids were showing up and she's freaking to put name labels on the kids, whereas I am trying to talk to the parents of the kids from my son's preschool.

About 20 minutes to 3:00 (when the party is supposed to end) I am telling her that it's time to hurry up and do the cake and gift opening. She tells me that she talked to a few parents and told them that we might be running behind. Ok, whatever. We said 3:00 ending and that's when the parents are going to expect their kids to be ready to go.

During the cake celebration, Dan was cutting the cake and I was handing it out to Jayden's side of the party. My neighbor is freaking out to get my dog away as she was eating the balloons. Ok, that is serious but surely she could have got my dog away. I just looked at her like, whatever!

Then, at 3 I decided to hand out the goodie bags to all the kids on Jayden's side so that if they had to go at that time, they could. Keep in mind, the gift opening had not started. My neighbor is wondering what the heck I am doing. Who cares, none of her business when I hand out goodie bags to Jayden's side of the party. She can hand out hers whenever as she was responsible for her own daughter's side.

Anyhow, never again. I felt that she controlled the party and I felt very stressed and didn't get a chance to enjoy my son's party.

I know all the kids had fun, but even the scavenger hunt could have been more appropriate for little kids. I would have done things a bit differently.

My second lesson learned and from now on I will not combine parties.

We were so lucky though! It didn't rain until after the party was over. YAY!

Yeah, control freak comes to mind. LOL At the same time, she supposedly is on medication as she is very high strung.

Well, it's my son's birthday today so I will bring something for his preschool class to share in the celebration. Plus I have 3 playdates planned with three different kids - Wednesday, Friday and next Monday. What a popular guy! He most certainly is with the girls! LOL

Jayden is in the light blue shirt and his good friend Courtney in the pink jacket (My daughter Amanda is behind Jayden in the burgundy shirt):

LOL He already had the candles blown out twice before we were done singing happy birthday.

These pictures were just from his side of the party and there aren't many and don't include everyone. UGH! Next door neighbor didn't bring her camera so my stepdaughter was running back and forth taking pics of both sides....getting mostly pics of the next door neighbor's daughter. Also, stepdaughter sucks at pics....most don't include the faces. LOL

Wanna know something? That was the only time up until I was in grade 10 that I had long hair. After this my mom always cut it into a pixie cut. GAG! Grade 10 came around and I grew it and it was once down to my waist.

This is why my daughter has long hair (she had it down to her waist at the beginning of kindergarten). Yet, she wants it cut to her shoulders now. Contemplating it as now I can see my mom's dilemna ... it's a pain in the arse to comb out long hair!

Here's a couple more:

http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg298/lee380/Meyoungeryearsb.jpg

Second one was me as a baby.

Third one I was about 4 and I was a flower girl for someone's wedding.

Emily is just the same. I love her hair long. Fortunately we havent had head lice since she left junior school! (thats aged 11). When she was younger and I was combing and brushing it for her she drove me crazy with her yelping and moaning!! She's got it just past her shoulders but wants it shorter and with a fringe but I'm still hanging on to her looking like a little girl!!!

x

leeanne
May 14th, 2008, 23:49 PM
Gosh, isn't that lice nasty! Amanda had it once a few summers ago. My stepdaughter brought it over. Ugh! It took weeks and weeks to get out of her hair. I think what stopped it is that I had a very high heat straight iron and decided to burn the buggers out.

Luckily, we have had only one incidence. If it were Jayden, I'd buzz it off. But, with girls, you just can't do that!

It was like she refused to admit that she might actually have them!! :hissy: They like clean hair for goodness sake!!!!
I hope she never gets them again but if she does I'll take your tip and fry the little bleeders!!!!

I think the straight iron is what kept me away from getting them. My daughter and I used the same brush, and my stepdaughter used it. I was very surprised I didn't get them but I straight iron my hair and probably fried them. Disgusting, I know.

Amazing that they like clean hair, isn't it? I had always thought that they liked dirty hair but my daughter's was always clean.

Tea tree oil, special lotions, and the combing for hours every night. It was very icky! LOL As you well know!

Hope those days are long gone. I cringe whenever a notice comes home from school.

Why oh why is my neighbor driving me nuts? God, she's so damn strict with her kids and it drives me.

My boy loves to play with toy guns and the neighbor will absolutely not let her sons play with them. Jayden got 4 for his bday...and not anything looking like a real gun - one is a transformer truck that turns into nerf gun. He also got the new Iron Man game today and showed it to the boys. Frig, it's like a superhero type game. The neighbor acts like I am such a fucking bad mom. Piss on her. Perhaps she should let her 10 year old boys be boys!

Anyhow, I am going to schedule my kids into a lot of things this summer so that we won't have to deal with her kids much. Nice kids, yes, but I can see there being issues.

That's my rant of the day.

On another note, I haven't posted this anywhere but will do so here as I know not many read my journal. Dan has his choosing of our little boy's name this time around. The last time, we were separated for a short period of time so I got to name Jayden.

I trust Dan as he likes names that I do. We have decided pretty much on "Chase".

For those who read this, what do you think?

The middle name will be Daniel as that's my OH's name and since this is our last child, his name should be included in one of the children's names.

First thing is first, so happy that there's been some happy news on the forum these past few days. :) I am so relieved for some of the posters who have bounced back from a scary situation.

I've just registered Jayden and Amanda into a bunch of things for summer so hopefully that will keep them busy and not so much hanging around the neighbor's kids next door. Nothing wrong with them, but I just know kids and if they hang out a lot, issues happen.

Also will be good for the kids to experience different things and meet new kids. After summer they will then both be registered in mini league soccer. Yay, I am going to be a soccer mom with a newborn in tow. LOL

Kind of fun to plan the summer actually. I told Dan that when we have a camping trip, even if it's for a long weekend, I only want us 4 and not the stepkids. May not sound nice but I find that my kids are more happy just sitting by a beach or hanging out at a campsite whereas the others keep asking what we are doing today.

Sheesh, I'll have little time before LO is due and I don't think I'll be wanting to do much anyhow.

On another note, had a rant about my stepson and his mom today. http://www.babyandbump.com/girly-sanctuary/33222-stepson.html UGH!

My pregnancy is going slowly but well.

25 weeks now and less than a few more weeks until third trimester. Next week I have my gynecologist appointment. I thought I would be seeing a male but looks like I actually have a female gynecologist. The first time I will meet her and I hope that I am comfortable with her.

And only 23 days until my next 3D scan.

So, some good things will be happening soon!

Baby is kicking away like mad as he has since the beginning. This child is active! Typical of a boy....LOL So far, a 29 lb. weight gain. WTF did it come from. haha

REMINDER to oneself: Got to go to walk-in clinic and get more thyroid pills. Been out of them for a week. Not good!

At a cross-road this week trying to figure out if I am in 3rd trimester or not at this point. Oh well, I have larger fish to fry. Think I'll go when I am 26 1/2 weeks.

Baby has been a bit less active these past few days. Also having bouts of bad heartburn and gas pains. Yesterday was really bad and uncomfortable. Trying to down as much water today than normal.

Today was my gynecologist appointment. First things first, AUGUST 26th is the date of my C-section. Supposedly, the reason it is a bit later is because August is a busy month and 3 out of the 4 gynecologists in the office is away for the month.

So I've kind of figured it out that by the end of this pregnancy I will have gained about 45-50 lbs.

I have been concerned as I have gained weight and more weight than I did with my other two. Yet, when I figure it out it's been about a 15 lb. weight gain for each trimester. Right now, I've gained 30 lbs. Another 15 would put me at around 45 lbs. at the end of my pregnancy.

Makes me feel better as that is what I gained with my daughter, and I am sure with my son, and lost it rather quickly.

So not much happening with me lately. Gearing up for a busy time of year - end of the school year activities, and there are many starting next week and for the few weeks after. Time to run around with my head cut off.

On the other hand, time should fly during that time AND the kids will be out of school soon so I don't have to do 4 trips back and forth to their schools every day. I may just get some things accomplished for the businesses!

But one thing very exciting is happening soon - 3D scan on June 14th. Yay! Can't wait to see how our little boy has grown from our last 3D scan when I was 16 weeks.

I've been in a fairly good mood today until I went to have a bath. Now I am sad and feel BLAH!

As many I have read have been, I am very self-conscious of my weight and gaining weight is awful hard on me. And just like with other pregnancies, it eventually gets me down.

I was so trying to enjoy my pregnancy to the very end. I admired others who were so proud of their bump and so tried to be like that. But I am not so happy about it now.

The baby, yes indeed I am very happy. I am at this stage though where I just want the pregnancy to be over and my baby in my arms. At this stage where have had my baby, and am starting to lose weight and get back to normal.

But will I get back to normal. Been lucky two times but will I be so lucky this time? I am, after all, a year away from being 40 and not a spring chicken anymore.

Ah, sorry about my rant but it's my journal and I am allowed. LOL

Thank you Holly! You are very sweet! :hugs:

I'm so f**king tired lately as I've been awake at 3:30 a.m. all week. Nice!

At the same time, I know when baby arrives there will be less sleep. LOL

Dan had an appointment with the doctor today to get a referral for the vasectomy consultation with specialist of no scalpel vasectomies. I assume the consultation appointment was made today as well.

At least we have the ball rolling in that direction. I am actually feeling kind of guilty for him to have to go through it. Kind of! LOL

At the same time, I have read stories about the after effects of a tubal litigation and I don't like what I've read. I don't want to go through a big change after doing it. Some have their periods earlier, longer, PMS is worse, etc. I'd rather deal with what I know will happen every month than the what-if scenarios.

My friend had a 4d scan at 28 (i think) weeks and I've not seen the DVD but the pictures (3D) are just amazing. Can hardly believe that the baby is still in the womb the pictures are so clear! It won't be long now till you get your scan - hope it goes really well. And I hope to see your tickers back soon as that will suggest time is going a bit quicker for you again hun.

You look fab, your bump is perfect xx x

Thank you sweetie!

I am getting very excited for it. Can't wait to see the difference that 12 weeks have made since the last one. :happydance::happydance:

I think over the next 3 weeks my time will go quickly as I have quite a schedule on hand for end of school things, bday parties, preschool parties, preschool graduation, etc. etc. etc. LOL The whole mayhem starts next Friday and lasts until June 26th.

Right now, though, it's kind of nice not having the tickers there. I am not thinking of the timing of my pregnancy as much. Going to see how long I can last without them. LOL

Heartburn, heartburn, heartburn. The story of my life these past weeks. LOL

I finally went and bought some bras today as my pre-pregnancy ones really haven't fit me properly since first trimester. I was trying them on, I looked at my stomach, and it has definitely grown this past week and it looks like it's changed a bit too. Will post a bump pic in next post after my battery charges.

Heading into 29 weeks tomorrow and put up one of my tickers. I guess I can handle this one. 11 weeks left! YAY! Bring it on!

Thanks to Mervs Mom today with regards to her post about fundal height I learned some things. I am interested in my measurement tomorrow at my gynecologist appointment.

Other than this, not much new except bracing for a busy few weeks starting on Friday.

And, of course, 4 more days til my scan!!!!!!!!!

My son's preschool graduation is tomorrow morning! Such a bittersweet day! Bet there won't be a dry eye in that place tomorrow.

The thing is, he has come so far this year. He used to drag me into the classroom to say goodbye to me, but now he leaves me at the door and waves. He loves school now and is so brave going to bday parties on his own.

Then he's off to kindergarten next year and he won't be as brave the first day of school. Not one of the kids from the preschool will be attending the same school as he will be. So he will be uncomfortable and all that he's come so far in doing this year will be a step backward for a period of time next September.

And, my daughter, my goodness, she's in grade 1 and holy, it is amazing at the how far she has come. She's reading now, for crying out loud! She's spelling words, etc.

It's this time of year that reality sets in and you see your little ones growing up, learning and developing so much!

What a difference 12 months make!

Haven't been updating my journal recently so I guess I should take the time now.

Time is going slowly but then again, I am amazed that there were 5 weeks passed from the last bump picture I took to the one I took yesterday. I guess time seems slow until you actually look back and realized it went fast.

I'm in my 34th week now, 40 days until Chase's birthday. Quite truthfully, I've just about had it with the whole pregnancy, not saying that it's been hard because it hasn't been. But, my body is becoming more uncomfortable and it's taking so much longer to do things like cleaning, etc. Energy level sucks right now too.

I know life won't be back to 100% normal after Chase is born, but I look forward to a good percentage of my normal life prior to pregnancy. Bending down, getting off the couch or sofa, my normal body and clothes back, sleeping on my stomach, no heartburn and so forth.

With 5 weeks 5 days left, the pressure is on though. I still need to get some baby necessities and get a lot done for work and in this house beforehand. But where is that nesting instinct? Where is my motivation? It seems to have failed me this time around.

I also made a thread recently about some feelings I had. Throughout this entire pregnancy I have had no vision of my baby after he is born, no dreams, no nothing. I am terribly excited but it almost seems like I have a sense of foreboding. I don't like it!

Anyhow, fly time fly!

3 weeks today and I get to see my little Chase! :happydance::happydance::happydance:

Time is nearing and I can't wait until it's all over and done with and my little guy is here. I wake up every night now at 1:30 a.m. to get a drink and go to the washroom. Usually up for an hour or so after.

So uncomfortable to do anything right now. Normal easy tasks take me longer and my back just kills me. By the end of the day my legs and feet ache so much that I feel like crying.

Not much happening other than what I've been writing on the forum. Been trying so hard to get things done around here and some things have been accomplished as of this past weekend. For other things, it's tough when one tries to clean the house and the kids demolish it within minutes.

Hey Hon. :D

I learned a really great mantra when I'd just had Charlie; what you do is stand in the middle of the room and place on hand on either hip. Look around you, take in your surroundings and breath deeply. Intone in your most positive voice...

"Ah screw the house work, I've got enough to worry about!!!" Then calmly and serenely go into the kitchen and make ones self a cup of tea. :laugh2: It works like a charm.

So while your getting to meet your new little man, I get to find out if I'm having another one or whether a little girl is coming to meet me this time. :cloud9: I can't believe it's only three weeks away!

The sleepless nights are truly beginning now. Instead of up once in a night, it's more like 2-3 times per night.

Thinking about it though, for the past few weeks I've been eating a lot of ice and drinking a lot of water so that's probably my problem at night. UGH!

Oh, to think I am so close. 1 week tomorrow! :happydance::happydance:

I finished packing Chase's bag today and mine just needs a few more things to add and it's done.

Otherwise, feeling tired but very anxious to have this whole pregnancy over with. I am also anxious as to how I will be feeling when I get out of the hospital and how I will manage taking my kids back to school. I suppose nothing could be harder than taking care of a sick 18 month old and having bronchittis myself all on my own after I got out of the hospital with Jayden. If I could get through that, I am sure I will get through what I will deal with when I get back home.

Today is somewhat of a big day.

I have an appointment at the hospital later this morning to go over all the information, including my time to go in next Tuesday.

Right after I head to my last gynecologist appointment.

And, during the last gynecologist appointment, I must tell her to tie my tubes while they are performing the C-section.

Here's a little run-down of the appointment to the vasectomy doctor yesterday:

We went to the appointment and Dan was handed a stack of papers to read through. Now, my OH is dyslexic. Ok, the doctor came in and told us to read this stack through. I said, "wouldn't it be easier if you just sat down and described to us what would happen" etc. "No, you should read the package" he says to us.

He knew I wasn't happy about that and him and I were not getting along. I finally told him Dan was dyslexic. The doctor then asks me, "what, do you have a problem reading this to your husband?"

WTF!!!!!!!!!!

I was pissy, the doctor knew it and so did Dan. LOL

The doctor left and I started to read to Dan. Finally, I just said, "F**k this!" I am going to get my tubes tied...they are opening me up anyhow. And we ended up walking out of there.

What Dan said is that the doctor looked like he was covering his butt by giving us this package to read if something went wrong.

Another thing, once mine is done it's done. I've heard vasectomies often don't work til 9 months later. We don't need that. And we also don't need two people going through a recuperation time within the next month.

Now you may ask why I wasn't getting a tubal litigation done prior. I've just heard bad stories about it and periods etc.

So please wish me luck that everything stays the same.

When I wake up tomorrow I will have 2 more days and my pregnancy journey is over! Can't believe I am now almost there....it's been a long, long year so far.

A huge grocery shop was done today so that my kids and Dan do not starve. I usually don't do big grocery shops and go every week for what we need. So Dan was pretty shocked and was bugging me, "You aren't leaving me are you?"

Anyhow, a few more errands to run and do before I go in on Tuesday.

Amazing, something happened today that never happened in my other pregnancies. I saw my stomach go up and down in one spot....Chase was practicing his breathing!! It was bizarre.

Oh, gosh, my weight gain....52 lbs! (First thing I do when I come back on BnB is put up a weight loss ticker....LOL) Where the hell did it come from? I didn't have cravings, just like with my others. I ate a tad bit more than pre-pregnancy. Hmm, wonder what weight Chase will be?

Jayden was 8 lbs. 6 oz. when delivered at 38 weeks.
Amanda was 7 lbs. 14 oz. when born 11 days overdue.

I think Chase will be bigger than Jayden's weight.

Well, sitting here anyhow so will post my story.

The night before I had deadlines. No eating or drinking solids after midnight and no drinking water after 2 a.m.

Midnight I had the worst acid reflux so managed to eat some tums. I then woke up at 3 a.m. very thirsty, but I missed the deadline for water! UGH! Anyhow, at that time I reset my alarm for a later time to get a bit more shut eye.

My alarm didn't go off but I woke up at 5:20 a.m. to be at the hospital at 6:15 a.m. Thank God, I didn't sleep in.

Anyhow, finally after being prepped etc. it was time to go in. When you have a C-section, you feel no pain but still can feel a bit of pressure. You can really feel it when they start tugging the baby out and it's a very weird feeling. You can hear them saying the baby had a big head etc. I was shocked to hear later that my little guy was the smallest of my babies - 7 lbs. 10 oz. And he really didn't have a big head.

The worst was when they were tying my tubes. You can feel them tuck them back in and then I heard the doctors say that "they couldn't put my uterus back in." God, like I needed to hear that. Plus my freezing was starting to come out so they gave me a bit more morphine. Something I will never forget.

Anyhow, they had me walking up and about at 5:30 a.m. the next morning. Trust me, even by the end of that day I wanted to go home. Who the hell can sleep in the hospital. I talked my gynecologist into releasing me a day early so here I am.

Now am at home and have held my little guy once. My stepdaughter thinks she is mommy or something. UGH!

My little ones are very proud of their new baby brother, daddy is a proud daddy and I am obviously very proud.
