Well I said I wouldnt start a journal till I got through the first tri.
I decided today I would start as I had a scan this morning and all is well - I think I finally feel like this is going to happen.
My name is Lisa and I joined B&B in the TTC section at the start of December 07 and I was very lucky to get my BFP in February 08.
This will be my second baby - my first, Emily, is 13yrs old and will be 14 by the time this one is born. "YOU? A 13 yr old? But you dont look old enough?" I hear you cry!!!
I'm now 33 and my husband and I are excited about having our first together. He's an amazing step-dad and he'll be a wonderful father.
Soooooo, bringing you upto date. Things have gone pretty smoothly so far *she touches some wood* and I pray that will continue to be the case. Minor nausea, major boobage, low level nervous breakdowns and high velocity farts.
I am 13 weeks and 1 day by my EDD but the scan today put me at 13+5 - that means I'm due between 13th and 17th October. Just as we planned it!!! Well not quite to the day but we wanted a baby as soon after September as possible. That fit well with work (we are both in education so we'll be off for the summer, back to work for a week or so then off again for maternity leave!) and the child being older in the year at school has advantages too.
Right I'll stop waffling....
Todays scan was fab - OH was a tad disappointed when the tech said she thought it was a girl and TBH so was I but as cheesy as it is, so long as its healthy and happy I dont mind if its not got a willy. NT measurement was 1.9mm which I am reliably informed is very good.
Today I vow to enjoy my pregnancy from this moment forth......

Well OH is definately sulking. :sulk:
We have a 3D/4D scan booked in 3 weeks time to establish the sex so I aske him if he thought we should still go. If they hadnt said anything yesterday, then we'd be going so thats one way to look at it. Another way is its not actually that long until my 20 week scan (no date yet but roughly) and they will probably be able to see then if Harry (or Harriet!) bean cooperates - and that doesnt cost anything!!!
I'm really undecided what to do for the best. I want him to decide as he's always saying that he doesnt know why I ask his opinion on anything as if I disagree we'll do it my way anyway!!!
Part of me wants this sorted ASAP - if its a girl then he'll just have to get over it (God I make him sound awful and he's the perfect husband - my friends often remark if they didnt know him as a rugby playing 6 foot mans man, they'd swear he was gay) and we can start getting excited again.
Like most women, I've worried my way through the first tri and he made me promise to start to enjoy being pregnant after the scan - I really want to and I think I will but this little cloud of him sulking about the possibility of it not being a boy is pissing me off.
I have belly ache today and I'm starting with a cold. :hissy: Emily starts a weeks run in an opera on tuesday so its mental driving miles to reharsals etc and I cant be arsed - fortunately OH is really happy to take her and stay even though you sit there till 10pm most nights. So he's a good guy really - esp when you think her biological father can even be arsed to ring her.....
I really need the Sex and The City movie to hurry up and come out!!
Right brain emptied.....(doesnt hold much eh???!).....for now...

Well I decided today that I'd take advantage of the scan showing me as 13+5 on saturday and move my ticker up. That puts me at 14wks straight. So I've officially moved to the 2nd tri here! I was going to move tomorrow anyway as there seem to be lots of differences in opinions as to when the 2nd tri starts - most are either week 13 or 14 so Iwas gonna split the difference!
I have a cold. I wouldnt quite say I'm 'full of cold' but I definately have one. My head is like cotton wool and my nose cant decide if its blocked or running. I had a rare lunch break today which was lovely. I came home and met my friend and we sat and chatted over some homemade minestrone soup - lovely! Last night I had a craving for curry and my lovely hubby drove back from Emily's reharsal 5 miles away to get me a curry, drop it off at home and then drove back to watch the rest of her rehearsal - as En Vogue once said 'What a man, what a mighty good man'.
My work clothes are not fitting too well. My skirts are getting shorter as my waist gets bigger so they will have to be replaced soon. I saw some nice black trousers in Mothercare but they have sold out at the moment so I'll keep an eye out - I really want the adjustable smart black pants not the ones with the big roll of soft material.
I'm not very hungry - made Emily and Keith their tea ( which I normally NEVER do - hubby's the chef here!) and just picked at the left overs.
My head is still throbbing with this cold - I HATE taking painkillers. Normally I avoid them - I just think one day you'll REALLY need them!! I gave in an had 1 500mg paracetamol at lunch time so I might have another before bed to help me sleep.

Woke up this morning to Emily dropping things in the kitchen - she's soooo tired. Two very late nights on the trot with reharsals for La Belle Helene and we've a weeks run to get through yet.....sheessh. Once I was up and about and unfamiliar feeling washed over me......nausea.....wow I though she'd buzzed off! Anyway I got to work as quick as poss and tucked into my Special K....mmmmm.....love it. Felt loads better for eating it and the nausea buggered off again. Good.
Mega busy day - loads of exam papers are arriving now and fortunately the caretakers are very sweet and lugged them all up to my office. Obv I'm not even attempting to carry them....that reminded me that I've still not had my risk assessment done. Yes, its common sense what not to do but as my assistant is recovering from an hysterectomy (sp?) who's gonna do the stuff I cant?? Or more to the point - how long will it take for someone to do it....
Fortunately I had some help today so a very productive day all round - happy with that. I think I'll keep my trap shut for the rest of the week about the risk assessment then I'll remind them who the union rep is.....
I havent got much of an appetite - not because I feel sick either. Just not very hungry - wonder if thats ok......
I was sitting reading B&B and I felt a funny sensation in the left lower side of my tummy. A kind of gentle movement simliar to wind only this time it didnt end with a smell......I wonder if that was the start of movements??? Didnt last long and I dont think it was wind.
Overall I'm feeling much more relaxed about things. I've still got this cold and I havent had any paracetamol since yesterday lunch time but I'm on the mend.
I wish I could have another dog......I've more chance of plaiting snot.....

I got my NT scan results back!! :happydance:
The lady said I was 'negative for Downs with a 1:5800 risk and negative for Edwards with 1:50000 risk'. I cant tell you how pleased I am. :cloud9:
Its another little milestone and a weight off my mind. We discussed what we would do if we got a bad result and I'll be honest, I dont really know.... I wish I could be one of those women who say 'Oh it wouldnt matter, I'd still continue' but I'm not. I'm not saying I'm sure I wouldn't continue though - after seeing my baby on the scans and thinking I might actually be feeling it move it would be an incredibly difficult decision to make.
Anyway - thank you God - I dont have to even contemplate that now.
I spoke to the midwife. She congratulated me and I asked if there was much point having the triple blood test now. She told me that there wasnt as the NT testing was more accurate and indepth so it would really be a waste of resources. I mentioned that I will be 20 weeks at half term and we re going away and would I be able to change the scan date in the event of it falling at half term. She said they aren't great at getting the scan dates out to people and it might be best to check with the hospital. I rang them and they havent got me on the system for the 20 scan yet so I'll leave it a week and ring again.
I think I finally feel like this is going to happen now. We've got over a couple of the early hurdles and it feels good.
Time to bloom......

I had a very productive day at work yesterday which was good - I had some help from one of the casual exams staff, who is also a friend so the day went quicker as we laughed while we worked.
After school me and some of the other teachers went to a local garden centre for 'friday cake' - they do the most deelish key lime pie!!! Mmmmmmm....
When I got home I could have happily fallen asleep till this morning!!! Alas it was finally my turn to watch Emily's show rather than chaperone her!!
She is in a weeks run of 'La Belle Helen' which for those who dont know is a light opera. she's the only child in the cast so they rehearse evenings till 11pm some nights, and then she has to be up for the school bus which leaves at 7.25am!! Bless her she's only 13 so she is pooped!! Last night tonight - she'll sleep till tea time on sunday!!!
During the performance I felt the now familiar feeling in my lower left side which I am now certain is Harry Bean. I've actually felt it again this morning.
Today I got my 'Belly Belts' and I am very impressed!!! They are simple extenders for your waistbands to give your regular clothes a bit longer!!
http://www.bumpto3.com/product.aspx?DISPLAYCAT=bump&CAT=Products&CATGRY=pregnancy_birth&PID=KB112
So I can get my regular jeans on without leaving the top button undone!!!
I'm watching a couple of Hi-Bebe dopplers on Ebay - they're used so I'm hoping to pick one up for about £30. If I cant then I'll get an Angel Sounds I think. Hubby asked if its a good idea - will I start analysing the heart rate etc but I dont think I will.
Tonight we are going out for dinner for hubby's friend's mum's 60th. His wife is about 12 weeks pregnant after a missed m/c in December and she's just had her 12 week scan (which is when the missed m/c was picked up last time) and all is fine!! So I can talk pregnancy and babies tonight with her!!
Here's a pic of Emily as Mercury - its a picture of a picture that was backstage taken on my sisters cell phone so its not great!!!

Nothing much to report today.
Went out for dinner last night which was nice. Got to talk babies with my hubbys friends Mrs who is due 10 days after me. Today we went to do a few jobs: a new pair of comfy flats for me and dog food and treats for the pooches!
I've continued to have the same little sensations in my lower left side so I'm pretty certain its Harry Bean moving. I asked OH if this one is a girl will he want another as he really wants a boy. He was laughing and saying he didnt want to think about it!!! I said seriously though....and he said probably not....phew!!! I dont know how I'll feel in the future but at the moment I really dont want to have anymore after this one. That said sometimes thats take out of your hands!! I've enjoyed Emily on her own for so long and an advantage of the big gap is I should be able to really concentrate on this one as Emily becomes more and more independant. I've never wanted a big family even though my Mum is one of 5 and my Dad is one of 11 so I know how fab a big family can be.....I also know that they are rarely all talking to each other at the same time!!!
I cant wait to get my doppler!!!! Fingers crossed it will be here by the end of the week.
Right I'm off to bed. I'm quite looking forward to seeing how the belly band works tomorrow!!!
Not long now.....Sex and The City movie is out 28th of May!!!! I cant fecking wait!!!!!

Great pics.
Congrats on first movements...
And you're still young, you don't know how you'll be feeling in a few years...Just like me,never really wanted kids at all,now this is great, don't get me wrong but I don't know if I'll ever want more.In the first trimester I thought 'never, ever again!',now in the second I'm thinking 'this pregnancy thing is pretty great, maybe wouldn't be bad to have more if I meet the right person'...I still have to see how this one turns out.
But it seems like you have a great daughter, the age gap definitely works in both of your favors...

15+2
I laid in bed last night and enjoyed almost an hour of my baby moving around. :cloud9:
It wasnt bubbles or fluttering - it was movement. And I could even feel it on the outside. Only very gently but when I pressed my hands around my belly and just laid there in silence it was definate movement. My friend at work this morning said does it feel like butterflies? The only way I can describe it is it feels exactly like when Emily used to move around further on during my pregnancy, only much more gentle. Not very descriptive for anyone whos not had a baby! It feels like a tiny tiny baby moving - thats it. When I turned over on my side I couldnt feel anything. I laid there thinking I must go to sleep....then I thought....I'll just lay on my back for 5 more mins and see if it does it again.....lovely.
Keith had his hand on my tummy but he couldnt feel anything - its very subtle and I think its because I'm feeling it inside I can relate to it on my hands. Emily had a feel this morning - I told her in a few more weeks she'd be able to feel something.
As I was leaving the house I had a massive urge to throw my guts up! I've not had that one before!!! When I was about to get in the car it hit me again - weird. I got to work and ate my cereal (which apparently is going to determin the sex of my baby....) and felt fine.
Thats all for now......

Very tired today - nothing to do with being pregnant. My Granddad on my Mum's side is dying. I went with Mum to the nursing home he's lived in for 2 years at 10pm and stay for a few hours. Mum stayed all night. He's 94 which yes is a very good age to be but its still my Mum's Dad and its incredibly hard to watch. He looks like Keith's Dad did last year, about 2 or 3 days before he died. I think you'd say he was unconscious. Not responding now at all. So sad. My poor Mum and aunties.
So now they will have no parents and thats hard. To see that the generation before you are all gone. And I now have no grand parents, and I've been very fortunate to have him for as long as I have. My Nanna died when I was 17 and I didnt really know my Dad's parents. So I in turn look and think that the natural order of things means that my parents go next.
My Dad said this morning as one door closes another one opens and if it werent for Goosey Granddad (thats been Emily's name for him since she could talk as he had a small holding with animals and geese) then I wouldnt be expecting my baby. And this baby will be a part of him - its how we get to live forever.
I got home in the early hours and laid in bed hoping to feel baby moving. I was so happy when he obliged. I said to Keith, who was fast a sleep - I;ve been waiting all evening for this.

Thanks girls.
I know I am very fortunate to still have him at his age and my Mum feels the same. My MIL lost her father when she was 21 and a very dear colleague of mine died when his baby girl was just 4 months old so I keep reminding myself of that but its still hard.
I've just got back from the nursing home. He's slowly going. My Mum and her sisters are there and they are making him comfortable. Its difficult to say how long it will go on but I hope it doesnt drag out - thats what Mum said when she walked to my car with me.
My ankles have swollen right up. My auntie pressed on them and it left an imprint which stayed. I've come home and I've got them raised but my legs are starting with pins and needles.

Thanks girls.
I've been out for some retail therapy as distraction.
I bought myself a dress for work: http://www.mamasandpapas.co.uk/product-s0003278/type-s/
and I got a monitor for the nursery and a new matress for the moses basket that my sister is giving me.
I'm going to tidy out the spare room which will be Emily's room from the end of May so we are ready to start on the nursery.
I think I'll go and watch cricket later and take the dogs.

I've been a woman on a mission this weekend.
I decided that I wanted to start getting things moving in terms of rearranging the bedrooms ready for the baby coming. Emily currently has the room next to us. We have 2 spare bedroom - one is tiny and thats the office and the other is downstairs (the house is built in to a hillside) and thats bigger and the shower room is down there too. I wasnt sure about Emily being down there and us upstairs but one distinct advantage will be being able to have normal volume sex again!!! The wall between our rooms is toooooo thin and we have to keep it down!!!
So I rationalised my wardrobes. I have plenty of space in my room so I shouldnt really need to spill over into that spare room. The charity shop is getting all my old stuff - size 10's that I wont be in again for a very long time!!! I havent had them on in 2 yrs and I think it'll be another 2 before I get any where near that again - if ever.
My wedding dress is boxed up and I sorted out photos and stuff to go in the attic.
Emily spent nearly all day in her room doing the same - a much bigger mountain to climb.....anyway she managed it and I think we will be able to move her at half term. She's going to Ibiza with my parents so we'll move her while shes there.
I managed to tick a few more items off my list for the baby. We have all the bigs stuff sorted now. Just need to get clothes, bedding etc now.
The Mamas and Papas factory shop is near here and I'm told its great for blankets and so on. I'm gonna wait till after the scan on saturday before I get clothes so I can get some girl/boy specific stuff.....getting excited....
Harry was moving about this afternoon - I'm feeling him more regularly now which is lovely. Mainly when sitting/resting.
I finally 'feel' pregnant!!! That may sound silly with me feeling the baby but the minor heartburn and breathlessness after the spare bedroom sorting really made me feel pregnant!
My friend is getting me some peppermint oil tablets for the heartburn - she used them for IBS but her friend is pregnant and she said its excellent and safe.

Today I finally got my risk assessment done at work. Only because I wrote a snotty email to my line manager who's been supposed to do it since I told them when I was only 5 weeks pregnant!!! I also copied one of the deputy heads in too - she rang me within minutes being all arsey and booked to do it over lunchtime today.
My main area's of risk without boring you, are from heat in my office - its like a bloody oven and everyone comments. It's unbearable in summer and windows open and fans make no difference. The sun shines in all day and its mainly windows so has a green house effect. I've complained to no avail for 3years but now they have to listen.....ha!
The other area put simply is stress. I usually have 2 other people to help me through my busiest time (I am responsible for exams in a large high school with up to 400 kids doing exams in any one sitting) and due to one leaving and the other recovering from a hysterectomy, I'm on my tod. As exams run up until lunchtime and then start over the lunch break, I dont get a break. Any issues come my way from behaviour to kids doing the wrong paper as the buck stops with me. So I cant be unavailable over lunch and even though I'm entitled to a break its those kids future so I feel like I cant just down tools. I know my boss ( the deputy ) really appreciates that I dont and he always tells me to go home early whenever I can/want to.
When we were doing the risk assessment the line manager basically said that stress is part of the job when you're preganant or not - yes I can accept that. But what I cant accept was that in her summary she said that stress isnt going to do me or my baby and REAL harm. I just need to learn how to deal with it.
I dont really care about what it does to me - as she said, its just part of my job. But a bit like smoking, my baby doesnt choose to be put under stress.......

Apr 29th, 2008, 20:27 PM
Pfft I take it she's never had kids then!! Everyone knows that stress does do your baby harm... and employers have no option but to recognise this and make their pregnant staff as comfortable as possible. What a witch.
Well at least it is all in a risk assessment now, so hopefully your Health & Safety Manager will recognise the issues then your line manager has no choice but to lift some of the load off you.
I hope it gets easier for you.

Yesterday by the end of the day I noticed when I tried to cross my legs or get up or down to sit, I had a pain in my bum!! Not a shooting or sharp pain and its just to the left of my tail bone. Later in the evening I was struggling and went to bed early. I found it difficult to turn over and get comfy but did get to sleep.
This morning I woke up and was fine. We've been out for tea as we always do on weds and its starting to build up again. Its quite uncomfortable and is getting worse.
I dont think its a trapped nerve as I'd have thought I'd feel it all the time....
I havent felt as out of breath today.
I still havent been able to hear Harry beans HB on the Angelsounds just yet but he's moving so I'm not concerned.
Cant wait for the scan on saturday......I really dont know what the will say.....tonight I went for my eyebrows theading and it wasnt my usual lady - it was an older Indian lady who is a relation of my usual lady. She comes over from India and helps Surrinder. When I was laid down she asked me if I was pregnant and how far along I was. She speaks very little English and is really sweet. She asked me if I knew if it was a boy or a girl and I said we are finding out on saturday. She said '99% you have a son'........we shall see....
Grandad's funeral tomorrow so I have the day off work. Not looking forward to it obviously. I know Emily will find it hard - she's very close to my Mum and I know it will really upset her to see Nannie hurting. But its got to be done.

Hey, sounds like a major cow, that woman!!! You know what I find ridiculous? Women are tougher on women than men, even though they know/understand/have been thru the same stresses and have the same worries!??!!? Its a phenomenon I have yet to explain, but I see it ALL THE TIME! ... weird...

What a bonkers day yesterday was.
My friend was having Emily for me while Keith and I went for the 3D scan so we set off early to collect her from a sleep over and take her to my mates house. I rang her to say we were 10 mins off as I knew she'd been out the night before - we'd been out for tea and I'd left her and our other mate at the pub. When she answered she told me she'd fallen down the stairs and cracked her head when she got in. I laughed! She said she thought she'd get a black eye too - again I just laughed. When I got there I could see she'd bashed her cheek and I was a little more sympathetic. She said she'd had a bath and the water went red and asked me to check her head. She had a nasty gash which was still bleeding - a V shape like she'd caught a corner - which was about an inch long and quite deep. So we decided to drop her off at A&E with Emily and we'd collect them after the scan. When we set off back from the scan she rang to say she was having some X rays and she wouldnt be allowed to leave without an adult to look after her with her hitting her head. When I got there she looked much worse. Her whole head was swelling up. Keith took Emily off and they went to cricket - I stayed with her waiting for them to stitch her up. When they came to put the stitches in they found that the gash was longer than they had realised - her hair had hidden it. So what looked like it needed 3 or 4 stitches eventually took an hour to put 21 stitches in and measured 8 inches...
They then thought she had a fracture to her cheek bone and were being dead cagey about her going home. Eventually the Dr came back and said she couldnt go home and they needed to observe her for 24hrs.......
So I ran around like a blue arsed fly getting her kids sorted and some gear for her. She was discharged this morning and was much better but is going to be off work for at least a week. She was already mortified that she's fallen down the stairs pissed but then we established that the hospital staff actually thought she was either a. a victim of servious domestic violence - she's single! or b. an escort girl who's client decided to attack her!!!!!
What must me and my mate look like I hear you saying - NOT LIKE HIGH CLASS HOOKERS!!!!!!
I've done her shopping today and taken it back over. Thank goodness its the bank holiday or I'd be still running about now taking her daughter back to boarding school!!!!! That might be tomorrow.....
Me today - a very uncomfortable heavy pulling-down type of feeling an general crampy/bellyachey-ness. I've just totally over done it. At least I dont have to get up for work tomorrow. I'm going to take the dogs on a long leisurely walk with my lovely hubby before the crazyness that is SATS week starts tuesday morning and I get on the exams roller-coaster until July....

Then we had lunch at Yo! Sushi in Harvey Nicks (dont panic - I didnt eat raw fish, just veggie sushi :winkwink:) and then we came home and took the dogs for a walk to the cricket club and watched the first innings - perfect!!!
I bought a lovely blanket and sleeping pod and a few sleep suits and vests. Its soooooo nice to know I'm shopping for a girl......I know there's a small chance it could be wrong but 2 sonographers have said the same thing now.

I'm knackered.
The past 2 days I've been at work for 7.30, worked till 4 and had no break whatsoever. I ate my ceral and 3 rich teas yesterday and cereal and 2 slices of toast today!!! Today was supposed to be my 'quieter' day as there was no exam in the afternoon.....its been mental!!!
I emailed the deputy yesterday (who I work for) and copied in my 'line manager' (who hasnt got a scoobies what I do) so it was in writing that I'd worked 8 hrs+ without even getting to go for a wee!!!!! Nothing will happen but its on writing so if they sign me off I can say 'its your fault you bunch of eejits - I warned you!!'.
Freaks.
Keith's now saying he's undecided on the name Hebe. :hissy: I want to start calling her by her name but I cant or I'll get the old 'I dont know why you ask me anything - you should just tell me whats going to happen' routine.
I have read my names book from cover to cover and I can only find 1 other name I like which is Amber - and I dont love it like I love Hebe.....

I do Holly!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! I'm just gonna have to let him think I'm considering other names and then keep coming back to it. He sugested Sophie last night which is nice but I want something more than nice!!! Plus our surname is Sykes - I dont want an 'S' first name!!! Wat if she has a lisp like me and my sister did when we were little!!!! My nephew is called 'Seth Szyzcak' (prounounced SIGH-ZACK) and I love it but if he has a lisp like Ashley did its gonna be a gob full innit!!!!!!

Another day at the nut house.....
Another kid asked me if I was pregnant today - I guess I'm officially showing!! I've not managed to eat very well this week with me being so busy at work so when I weighed myself this morning I wasn't suprised to see I've lost 3 lbs. So my total weight gain to date is 3lb. A bit rubbish really but I suppose there's plenty of time yet!!! I got a letter from the Dr's about my blood tests from last week. As suspected I've got a low haemoglobin count so I've got to collect a prescription for iron tablets. I havent felt as out of breath this week and I asked them what the levels came back at and they were 10.9 so only just under. Black poo here I come.......
I talked to Keith about the whole 'Hebe' situation.....he basically said he wasnt saying he didnt want to call her it but he thought there was plenty of time to decide. Erm.....NO!!! I want to start calling her by her name NOW!! :hissy:  he laughed and said 'we all know that if you've decided then thats that!' Erm.....CORRECT!!! You're learning!!!
I have got a massive craving for chocolate - any kind involving Cadbury's milk choc..... and I really want a choc ice too.....he's going to get me one on his was back from cricket practice. How the hell havent I put a stone on yet!!!??
I've started with very low level heartburn so my friend recommended peppermint oil capsules - totally safe to use and do you know what - they are very good!!
Hebe.....(see how I did that)....is moving around lots more. Keith felt her move last night - only very gently but his eyes lit up. :cloud9:
I cant wait for the weekend. It's my Dad's retirement party which will be a good laugh with all my loonie southerner rellies there. I've got very little else planned and I'm looking forwrd to that a lot!!

It's not dumb!!!
Hebe was the daughter of Zeus, who in Greek mythology was the king of the gods. She is the godess of youth so it means 'youth' or 'prime of life'.
It's pronounced 'hee-bee' or like Phoebe without the 'f' sound at the start.

Had a bit of a rubbish day today. :(
This morning in bed hubby was cuddling up to me and we were chatting. He said that he felt like we weren't very close at the moment. I thought he meant physically but he said he meant as in time spent together. I calmly pointed out to him that it was difficult to get an enormous amount of quality time, when every evening or weekend he's busy doing his own stuff. He plays footie friday and cricket all day saturday and some times all day sunday. Over the bank holiday he played golf....are you getting that he's sporty... He also has commitments some evenings during the week, commitees and kids cricket etc. He conceded that he was probably over commited/doing too much of his own thing and that if he feels he's short of some 'us time' that he's the one going to have to find some time for me!!
The thing is I dont actually mind - yes, its a pain sometimes that he's playing cricket most weekends but Emily is there scoring and I go and take the dogs and watch and I have friends there so its not a chore really. I never wanted to be one of those wives who expect their hubby to ask for permission before he does anything and I dont feel badly done to - he treats me like a queen and I dont have to lift a finger for much of the time!
But the more I thought about it today the more upset I became. I dont know if its hormones - I think thats a big part of it - but I cried all morning. I stayed away from cricket mainly because it was about 10000 degrees in the shade and me and the dogs were both panting and crawling under benches. But I really stayed away to sulk.
So now I'm getting in a tizz because I havent felt Hebe move today - well not properly anyway. I know at this stage I shouldnt worry. This just makes me think I'm havng an all round pregnant/hormonal day.

Am I really 18 weeks??? Blimey.
Another stupid day at the academy for loonatics....and thats not the kids.
Started at 7.30 and worked through till 3.15 - I can cope with that. I didnt eat again but its my own fault. I went to the 24hr Tesco on my way to work but forgot monday they dont start till 8am. So I didnt have anything to eat and by the time I'd realised the canteen was shut - its bob anyway.
So I met Keith at Saino's on the way home and bought loads of nice pre-prepared fruit so I've no excuse. Pomegrante seeds ready to rock and fresh pineapple and other yummy stuff. Oh ye and load of Magnums - my craving.....
I rang to chase my 20 week scan as its due over half term and we are going away. They have booked it for friday 9th June at 8.30am so I should be first in and back at work in good time.
I had pins and needles in my tongue and lips today....weird....Anyway I rang NHS direct and the midwife and they both seemed unconcerned. Keith picked up my iron tablets after the bloods came back low so black bobs here I come......

Well I've eaten relatively well today! :) I had my usual cereal for breakfast and a cup of decaf tea, a couple of choc digestives for elevensies, a tub of pomegrante seeds and a punet of strawberries for lunch. Not bad for me!! I had my iron tablet and so far I am still 'going'.....
I came home had a couple of crumpets and cheese and a Magnum. They have become a fully fledged craving / addiction. We had a meeting at Emily's school tonight about her field trip next month and when she rang me from the bus to remind me the conversation went:
Em: Its the Castleton meeting tonight
Me: What time does it start?
Em: 7pm
Me: How long will it last for?
Em: Dunno...
Me: Well will I need to take a Magnum with me?
Em: Probably - I think its an hour
Me: Right then.
I am just not hungry at all!! Just thirsty as a racehorse after the national and needing Magnums like Nikky0709 needs Starbucks!!!!

Ok Mum.....
Right I think I'm getting somewhere with the whole 'Hebe-gate' affair....
Yesterday I told Keith about leedsforever's choice of names for her bubba girl - she's having 'Ellan' for the middle name as she's a Leeds fan and they play at Elland Road.....
He seemed impressed by this (he's a Leeds fan too). I wasnt thinking of straight nicking the idea, more getting his creative juices flowing...
Soooo, I just said to Keith 'So have you given any more thought to middle names?' and he said 'Yes, I really like Ellan' - I said 'As in Elland Road?' - 'Yes'.
So what do you think? I have to say (no offence to anyone and especially leedsforever!!) the idea of a football based name doesnt appeal but do I entertain it if it means I get my own way with Hebe?????????
So that would be 'Hebe Ellan Sykes'.......

He also said it worked well with Hebe and because my middle name is Helen which is similar. He even talked about her initials and making sure they didnt stand for anything stupid etc.
So its done - Hebe Ellan Sykes......and I am sooooooo happy....:headspin:

It was hazy but basically she was in early labour and they were trying to slow it down or stop it. They were sucessfull so I'm hoping its a good omen.
She's such a poppet and so up and happy with a piss taking sense of humour just like my own. She's made a good situation out of a postentially awful one. She's acted in a selfless, mature and intelligent way and I really admire her - she will make a great Mum and this might sound stupid but I think especially so for a girl. What a great role model for a woman of the future.
So I'm saying a prayer for her today and not worrying myself about me for a day at least.

I've watched her from her posts in the teen forum about being pregnant right through until now. It's been amazing to watch such a young lady turn into such a wonderful mom-to-be and I know that she'd be a fantastic mom. Heck, if I was a little one, I'd love to have her as a mom. :)
I've never seen such a teen be so mature, so loving life and the life growing inside of her, in addition to remaining great friends with the father even with her short-comings with her own parents. She's remarkable!

Well today was another mental day at work. A woman/bitch from the office rang my office to say no-one was down by the exam venues at change over stopping the kids from going past making loads of noise. I told her that I couldnt be in two places at once and she snapped 'well thats why one of us have had to go out there and WE are short staffed in here'.....'WELCOME TO THE CLUB' was my reply and I slammed the phone down - stupid cow. When I have no help and I've got kids and staff wanting me literally every minute of the day, I dont see that set of witches offering any support. Yet when they have to get off their fat arses and might miss one of their 7800 cups of tea per day then there's hell on. ARRRRRGGGGHHHH :hissy:
Rant over.
I had an appointment with an osteopath after work. It was the best £40 I've spent in ages!! I didnt think my out fit through. I had a dress on so after the consultation I had to doff off to my knickers and bra ( matching and quite nice fortunately ) for him to work his magic. He was quite tasty too which was a tad embarrassing.....but I got lost for a while as he rubbed and pulled me about.....cracking a few joints back into place. He told me I was very bendy which was good in someways but meant that when things get out of line they often go WAY out and need lining back up. Anyway he doesnt seem to think I'll need to go again and reckons that pregnant women also seem to fix quickly so I should feel improvement fairly soon.
In the meantime I like many of you cant stop thinking about Amy. We seem to be having some bad news on here at the moment. Hopefully she'll buck the trend and we'll see things turn around for all the B&B girls.

Then I was describing how he was pushing and pulling my neck about and he said 'Like this????' and pretended to push my head down towards his crotch!!!! .....you just know I'm gonna have a rude pregnancy dream tonight dont you.....:coolio:

I more day at work and its half term!! :yipee:
Today I spent quite a lot of time with the person who will be looking after exams for me while I'm on maternity - she's our head of geography and getting on a bit and she's really lovely but my goodness she's a witterer..... I'm sure she'll be fine. We had an intruder in school last night - he was caught on CCTV. He took about £60 from my office (money from the kids paying for replacement timetables and resits) and 2 mobile phones that I'd taken off kids. He was totally brazen and just walked around school going in every single unlocked room and going through drawers - got lucky in mine didnt he!! :dohh: They came and dusted for finger prints this afternoon.
I realised I need to let other people do stuff instead of thinking its quicker to just do it myself - even though it is..... I was buzzing about and I kept getting some really bad pains right under my bump. I just need to slow down a bit but thats easier said than done - its just part of who I am - A total control freak!! Anyway, after tomorrow I've got 7 weeks then its the summer, off for 6 weeks, then in for 2 or 3 weeks then I'm done.
Emily is going to Ibiza tomorrow night with my Mum and Dad for her annual holiday with them - basically they go away and she dictates what they do! That usually means lots of swimming during the day while Dad has a few pints followed by dinner and too much karaoke!! Emily loves to sing and she's pretty good so they indulge her most nights - she's so lucky. She's been the only grandchild for 12yrs and totally spoiled but its lovely how close she is to my parents. Then in the space of 2 years she gets her first cousin and a sister!!
We are going to Northumberland on sunday morning. Just me Keith and the pooches in our little caravan of love. Cant wait!! Last time we were away in it was the week after I found out I was pregnant!! We have such a laugh when we go and it will be really nice as it will be just us......so when the caravan's-a-rocking dont come-a-knocking!!!
i cant believe I'm almost 20 weeks!! Hebe is moving about everyday and doing proper little kicks now. My favourite time of the whole day is bedtime.. I just lay with my hands only belly feeling her move and its totally amazing.....:cloud9:

blimey sounds like an eventful day!!
i know when we got broken into at work i felt really pissed that my "work" space had been invaded and some tramp had been all over my stuff lol, hopefully theyll catch the idiot.
How comes youve got all this time off ... if your as much of a control freak as me youll want everything in place before you leave lol!!
I cant believe your 20wks either!! Only seems like 5 mins ago you got your BFP and even less for me getting mine, it just goes so quickly i dont know where the time goes.
Hope you have a lovely time away hun

What really bugged me about him going in my desk was that all my pics are there - ones of Emily and Seth and me and Keith on out wedding day etc and I just thought I hope that skanky git wasnt looking at them - daft but it just irritated me. :grr: And they've got him in the girls toilets on the CCTV.....weirdo.
I think my control freakery is why I get flustered by this woman covering for me being a ditherer and a witterer. I'm going to have 12 months off and like you I want to leave everything 'just so' but what kind of carnage will I end up coming back to!!!! You never know - they might do a much better job than I do....but they wont do it 'right'. Hehehe....

Nothing in particular thank goodness!! He got into the school building via the sports centre we are attached to. We use it during the day and then its public at night so he managed to sneak through and wander around the school building. He was there from 6.10pm to 7.45pm mooching about. We think he possibly heard a caretaker and hid in the toilets till the coast was clear then carried on nosying about. You could just see his fat belly poking out of the cubicle!!! Odd bod.

It's strange when you know someone has gotten into your office and things.
I once did accounting for a restaurant and I loved the job so worked til late on many nights. One night I left at around 11 p.m. and came back in the next morning to know that someone had broken into my office and the caretaker's office where the tools were. They came through the roof access. I believe they were there waiting when I was still there.
A week later, it happened again. This time they tried to break into the safe but weren't successful. I was so paranoid and freakish when I worked late there after.

Just a quick entry today as I'm on keiths blackberry and it's a pain to type on.
I'm officially half way! 20 weeks! My sister said once she got to 20 wks she counted backwards so she felt like she was getting there.
we are having a lovely time in Berwick which is pretty much as far north as you can get without being in Scotland! the accent is strange - some seem to talk with a Scottish accent and some sound Jordie!?

Im hoping we can get away for a few days at some stage! But its going to have to be a family holiday! When you have little ones, going on holiday isnt quite as fun!
