Hey all, I was wondering, what is the average time it takes to conceive or does it depend on your age? I.e. the younger you are the more likely it is for you to concieve quicker?

It is different for everyone. It really is like a game of chance. I believe some would believe that women are more fertile during a certain age (20s~) and you may become less and less fertile as you get older up into your 30''s~40's.

As for the average for how long it takes to conceive, i've read some sites say between 5-8 months. You may get lucky though and conceive after the first try! And it may also take up to a year or more. Good luck :hugs:

It's really annoying if your friends get pregnant on their first try and you don't!! Grrrrr friends!!

It can depend on a huge number of things including age, weight, medical conditions etc etc

I've been trying for 29 months...but some girls in this forum got it the first time around! I would recommend an appointment with a GP to have a check up before TTC.

We'd been trying properly for 6-7 months, and im still shocked im pregnant:cloud9: (due to my age i was planning to go for fertility testing...) Im in the 'older' age group, 38 next month and this is my first baby!

I really recommend a fertility monitor. The week i conceived i was supposed to ovulate on sun 23rd and the monitor showed me ovulating on thur 20th instead. We only did it once that week on wednesday, and voila. So it is possible! :) Good luck!:dust:

I have conceived quicker as I have got older! Think they docs would say you are more fertile in your late teens and twenties though.
